We are both much safer now…even with a prothetic
My husband lost his leg a year ago so the job of shoveling the driveway now falls to me. One of the first times this year that I did it, I slipped on some ice and hit my head really hard. It happened so fast that I didn’t even know I was going down until I was laying on my back looking up at the sky. I friend of mine gave me a pair of these to try and they worked like a dream!!! My footing was so secure that I couldn’t even tell I was on ice. I then ordered two pair of my own. They will help my husband also. He can use them with his prosthetic and when his buddies take him ice fishing. And we will also have a spare pair because I never want to be without them! This is an incredible source of security for a very low price. Thank you to the manufacturer who made this available. There are other things out there, but I have not heard much that is good about them.

Field Science, serious outdoors people, hunters, these are the ice cleats for you
If you are an outdoors person, I would not recommend the other well-publicized, expensive ice grippers. Those are meant for walking in shoes in neighborhoods and along suburban pathways. Thank goodness Amazon still carries these old style ice cleats. I used to find these at sporting goods stores. Unfortunately stores have gone to the more popular, but not necessarily better styles, of grippers. These cleats have been my professional choice (Biologist/Educator) for over thirty years. Most pairs have lasted several winters. One pair fell apart after two winters but in my experience this is not typical. I can depend on them on ice, in deep snow, and icy slush. Nothing else has served me so well for field classes and hunting in mixed Michigan conditions. I did try other well-publicized grippers – disappointed. They constantly fell off or moved around on my boots. These stay put with the heavy duty rubber strap across the toe and I love the way these go up and over your boot heel. Years of bushwhacking through swamps and icy patches, these have never, ever come off. Yes, you do need to become accustomed to the feel, and yes, these may not be comfortable for everyone. You may have some soreness under your toes after hours of walking in the field. Small inconvenience to feel secure in icy conditions. I am a petite senior lady, and always stow a pair in both vehicles, as well as the garage. A big plus is the price makes purchasing extra pairs affordable. I would not be without these wonderful ice cleats at work or at home.

    Great for Stability/Security
I live in the forest and cut lots (and lots) of wood, as I heat my home and hot water with an outdoor furnace that is 100 feet away from the house. During this very icy/snowy Pennsylvania winter (2013-2014), I tended the fire twice daily. There was also a need to cut more trees. Strapping these puppies to my feet kept me secure from slipping. My wife and I wore out our 7-year old pair and these are replacements. I broke one of the toe straps when I kicked the ice off a log. My fault. Very sturdy product. Highly recommended.

    good basic cleat.
I’ve bought these a few times. For what they are they’re fantastic. They work well on the ice, and are cheap enough that I keep a pair under the seat in all the family cars just in case. They’re not as comfortable to have on as my yaktrax (in that it feels like you’re stepping on something), but unless you’re going to be wearing them all day it’s nothing to write about.

These are hot available in an XL as stated
They would’ve been the closest thing to my former cleats and they aren’t available anywhere for this size and there’s a size chart starting there’s an XL. I had to go with a pair I hate that hurt, but it’s the only thing that’s right for my boots and shoes.

    work great on river botttoms
I ordered another pair of these after wearing the original pair wade fishing for about 3 years on my wading boots. I fish a lot and they took a beating. one of those few products these days that are worth their money.I had a hard time determining what size to buy. They stay on your boots very well.

    Great product
I bought these for my mom after she fell on the slick driveway and knocked herself unconscious. Don’t wait for your mom or dad to be injured. Get a set for him and for their vehicle so they’re always prepared.
