Older cat loves this toy
This cat toy is a lifesaver keeping our cat entertained multiple times a day. It is well made comes with two feather heads and three of the plastic wands that attach by pushing them snuggly unto the spinner post. Our cat is over fifteen years old and she loves it. At first it seems the wand spins too fast. That is only a human perspective. The cat is not daunted by the speed. She played for several weeks with one feather head. It has only half the feathers left but is still useable. She occasionally pulls the whole thing off the post but that is only when she actually tackles it and holds it down while pulling it off. In other words, the cat is totally into her imaginary world where she has caught a bird. I have a few suggestions for improvement such as making the turn and click to put the base on a little more of a turn, it easily opens up when moving the toy from place to place ( not by the cat). Offering replacement feathers would be good although I feel hot glueing new ones on will not be a problem. A remote control would be great but the button can be pushed on and off with a foot. We use rechargeable batteries. Regular batteries would probably last about 2 weeks of regular use. Altogether this is a great product, totally worth the cost, highly recommend if you have a bored cat.

Feathers Not well made but cat loves it
Cat loves it. The base of the device is sturdy but the feathers came off after an hour of play. Also, it turns off automatically after a set period of time without any way of changing it.

Slow start but cat still loves it after a year.
We turned it on several times and both our cats ignored it. After a week, one cat was laying on the floor and I turned it on and placed it near enough to her that the feathers bumped her. She then started playing with it. After about a year she still loves to play with it and will sometimes go sit next to it until we turn it on for her.The feathers are much more durable than I expected. We are on our second set, but considering how much she chews on them they have lasted a really long time.Our other cat (12 yrs. old) still ignores it, but she is also the skittish one.I rated the motion detection as 3-star because I am not sure I know anything about the motion detection. I do know that it shuts off after about 10 minutes. I also know that it has shut off when my cat was still playing with it.

The speed the feather moves is way to fast and its dangerous because it can hit the cat in the eyes. I would not recommend.
