They stack well. They lock well. They have ample space.So in winter, after the panemic hit and now I’m full remote, I have this portable nest thing going on where I keep all my in progress crafts, hobby supplies, my phone, kindle, and notebook, everything I need during the day in a single container, and then just set it up wherever I’m nesting, be it at my desk, the kitchen table, or the couch snuggled under a slanket. I open the container, and my nest is ready for me. This is perfect for that.It’s enough storage for just about any craft project shy of weaving I have going on. I’ve squished entire blankets in there and I don’t do those measely 48 inch blanets that have come in to vogue of late. Seriously, when did the knitting and crochet community get taken over by Hobbits? I’ve got a full 72″ x 45″ crochet blanket mashed with a skein of yarn and a hook in one of these waiting for me to have time to crochet the border. That’s about as much as it can take, and the lid buldges, but it works. I can’t imagine working a larger project than that, so I’m good with it.

Handles pop off easily
Plastic seems durable so far, and lid is secure. They also stack easily. The only problem so far is the handle latches pop off easily.

Handles are crap
Every tote had 1 handle fall off and one container had 2 fall off. Also missing a handle. Seems to be an issue with wherever these are made. I had to poke a hole to put the handles back on and they don’t stay very well.

Unusable storage bins due to persistent chemical smell.
The IRIS USA 13 Qt Stackable Plastic Storage Bins with Lids arrived on a Saturday. Immediately upon opening the shipping box, there was strong chemical smell of “new plastic.”Since the storage bins and lids seemed well made, I first moved them to a back deck thinking they would air out for a day or so and be fine. The smell persisted.An internet search suggested that the smell would dissipate faster if the boxes and lids were in the sun. I moved them to a walkway adjoining our garage where the storage bins and lids got full sunlight. The small windows to the garage were open and the smell filled the garage.It is now day three and the smell has barely abated. My greatest concern is what I read on the internet about the various volatile organic chemicals that may be off gassing from the plastic. I definitely do not want those vapors in my home.This is beyond frustrating. I would like to buy from an American manufacturer. For that reason, I did not mind what I thought would be a little time outside to dissipate an odor. But it is now day three and the odor is still present. My current mindset is why I am doing all these extra tasks to try to make these bins usable? Shouldn’t I have just been able to use them once they arrived?Returning them is too much of a hassle due to their size. They will likely be recycled.These bins were useless to me.

This product is very light weight and easy to use and stack. It can easily crack if used roughly. I like that it comes with different sizes to store various items. Would highly recommend.
