Decent box but not too sturdy
I ordered a 4- pack of these and when they arrived one box was cracked. The cardboard box they arrived in didnât look beat up, but there is no cushioning or bubble wrap or anything to protect the plastic. A lot of reviews said that lids arrived cracked my lids were good but it was a boxes that were cracked. I submitted a return online and two days later I had a replacement four pack. All items were fine in the replacement pack.The lids lightly snap onto the boxes so it doesnât seem very secure. Material for the box and lid is a thin plastic. Was hoping for a more sturdy box with a more secure lid but you get what you pay for.

Who ever gets excited about file boxes? Someone who needs to file a lot of papers, and that’s me. So I was excited and dismayed in getting my new IRIS File Boxes. They’re well designed and my legal-size papers are a perfect fit. But unfortunately one of the boxes is cracked. Though they are a flexible plastic, they appear to be brittle. At first I thought I may have broken it by pulling off the lid (they come nested with the lids sitting on top the top box), but I had pulled it off the bottom, so am pretty confident to say it was broken while packing it for shipping.

Eco-friendly Blue Boxes, great condition
I went with the eco-friendly blue tubs because I didn’t want transparency. The blue eco-friendly tubs also looked a little thicker to me than the clear ones which, I felt, would help them be sturdier and not break in shipping to me as reported by so many. I took the gamble, because local stores did not have this size I really needed, and won. All 4 of my blue eco-friendly tubs came unbroken, including the lids. I wish the tubs were a little thicker/heavier, but overall I am very happy with them, they are thick enough, and they will work great for my files which was the intention of this purchase. They are not flimsy at all and I expect them to keep my files safe from moisture and other things that would harm files for the long haul. They are appropriate for garage storage as well. With that said, these are intended for files. You don’t want to put too heavy of items in them. They are not meant for that. I am very happy with this purchase and very glad to get my files out of banker boxes and I know my papers are safer. I wrote this review because I felt bad the clear ones broke for so many, but want others to know these blue eco-friendly ones are great for this purpose and this is a safe buy.

I purchased these to make milestone boxes for my kids. They are a great size and turned out adorable! They also easily stack on top of each other. The lid doesnât latch on as well as I would like it to, but it isnât a product we will be handling often. If you need the lid to be super secure, take this into consideration.
