Beautifully unique Eldar Futhark runestones
Beautifully finished rune stones feel great in hand and sound good rattling in your palm. The runes are rough cut so a word of note, the symbol for Ng/(Ingwaz) which looks like a square on point, looks more like a hashmark on point due to the stylizing. Very unique set came with a little mesh pouch and a lovely chakra stone bracelet as a gift!

Beautiful, unique stones!
These unique stones are gorgeous. They are roughly the same size and have beautiful color variances in muted tones. The runes have been carved and then painted with gold. There is a blank or Wyrd rune included. They do roll, so drawing a rune is safer or casting or on a cloth or carpet with a pile to keep them from moving about (escaping!). They also came with a little pouch and a bracelet with stones in the chakra colors. Really nice!

Unfortunately, not my favorite cup of tea….
I have mixed feeling about this set. First, the colors are very muddy. Rather than being more lively colors like shown in the listing pictures, this set has stones that are a very muddy blend of dull gray and brown; I was quite disappointed when I opened the package. Some of the runes on the stones are cut incorrectly. Oruz isn’t centered on the stone; instead, it sits fully in the lower half of the stone, throwing off the stone’s balance. Eiwaz has very sharp angles and the “arms” of the Rune are way too long compared to EVERY other set I’ve ever seen. Sowulo is turned 45 degrees off upright position (crooked) and looks like a very angular number 4. Eiwaz and Sowulo are so bizarrely cut that they are confusing to differentiate unless you REALLY LOOK at them carefully; its distracting and tends to throw off the meditative state I prefer to be in when using the Runes. And Berkana is also cut very sloppily, with the triangle parts of it having lines that crisscross rather than meeting at the points of the triangles, giving an effect of more x’s everywhere. These mistakes ALL make it difficult to see at first which Rune you are observing. All of the figures are etched into the stones with what I assume is an electric tool, but the work lacks finesse; brilliant gold paint, in and of itself very attractive, is then used to line the etching. The stones are mostly rather consistent in size, but one of them is about half the size of one of the bigger stones, which I find a bit unsettling. To me, the Runes are a divination and spiritual tool; I feel that a Rune set should be done as an artist would do a painting: with care and aforethought, especially at the price of this set. It feels like the person who did this set could be new to this type of crafting and, perhaps, doesn’t understand the importance of how the figures are supposed to be shaped. Having grown up doing lapidary work by hand, I do understand that stones shaped like this would be difficult to etch if not placed, preferably, into a padded, small vice, so they won’t move around while trying to etch them. A smaller etching wheel that would allow more precise work would be of benefit to the artist or stonecutter doing the work. On a more positive note, the stones are sturdy and nicely rounded and smooth, and feel good in the hand, with a satisfying weightyness. Because the finish is dull, I am not sure if they were possibly put thought a stone tumbler to smooth them down even further for consistency of the finish or, instead, are in their natural state. One would think it would be obvious, but I didn’t realize these stones could travel so far, so fast; their relatively heavy weight carries them further, faster, than one would initially think. I would suggest, as did another reviewer, to use a piece of thick blanket, or even velvet, to throw or even gently place the stones because otherwise they will roll everywhere, off your table, across the floor, etc., a disadvantage I don’t care to put up with. If you didn’t get them all picked up and accidentally stepped on one, it could hurt your foot or perhaps cause an accident if you had on hard-soled shoes because they roll QUITE easily. The set came with a lovely bracelet that fits even my large wrist. Strung on a thin elastic cord, it went on ok and though a just a teensy bit snug, it was comfortable and quite nice looking, looking more substantial on the wrist than its .3 oz. weight would predict. I looked at it under natural light; its made of small, tumbled stones in 7 colors, that I assume are supposed to match the chakras, but one set of the stones is gray. I’ve seen a zillion chakra charts and have never seen gray relating to a chakra on any of them. The bigger stones measure approximately 1/4″ to 3/8″ (depending on how you lay them on the ruler), and appear to be opaque blue lapiz; the unidentified transparent gray stone next; then purple amethyst, a pale yellow quartz, an orange stone that resembles agate, a translucent green aventurine (?), and then what resembles red garnet (the tiniest stones on the bracelet at about 3/16″ to 1/4″ inch in length, but are rather slender otherwise). I like the bracelet far more than I like the Runes, but if you are into really unusual yet natural things, this set could still work out for you or as a gift (or two) for a friend.

Exactly as shown, they are beautiful. I am just getting started with runes and I did not realize one of the stones would be blank. My bad, but all is well they are beautiful. Just as pictured, I love them. They come with a sizable black velveteen zippered pouch and a chakra bracelet, small crystals. I just need to read up and actually learn about them.

I did not get what I ordered. I ordered the lingam rune stones and received Quartz rune stones. I am not happy at all. If I wanted the Quartz, I would have chosen the Quartz. I am very disappointed.
