About Us
In 1950, Conrad Jobst founded JOBST in Toledo, Ohio. Born in Germany, Conrad was both a mechanical engineer and inventor. He applied his varied expertise and personal experience to the development of gradient compression garments, which relieve the symptoms of venous insufficiency.
Today, JOBST is an Essity-owned brand.
What is Gradient Compression?
Garments with gradient compression have the greatest pressure at their base and reduce pressure as the compression garment goes up the arm or leg.
This helps encourage the movement of fluids, whether it’s blood circulation or lymph fluid circulation.

Fantastic Quality
I’ve used all types of compression stockings– Carolon, TruForm and now these, Jobst. I actually first discovered these at a local medical supply store in a desperation search for quality, but ended up coming back to Amazon to order in bulk because they were about 15% cheaper here. These have solid, sturdy weaving and actually give the compression you’re looking for. The other brands I used tended to lose compression after a couple of weeks, or started to rip at the seems after a month or so. Mind you, this is even after learning to put them on properly (YES! there is a technique to put these on, that I did not know: turn them inside out only to the heel so that you can slip them on over your foot comfortably, then you roll the excess up past your foot and slide it up your leg), the others would still give out. My first pair of Jobst lasted for SIX months with NO compression loss and no rips. That was twice as long as everything else I tried. They grip well below the knees (they do not have the “grip” beads that Carolons do, but they don’t need it, and it is so much more comfortable without them) and do not slide down. It should be noted I have large calves (19.5″ at widest) that are well-defined and taper to 18″ at the top of the calf– so that might be part of the reason these don’t slide off of me too. I am 6 feet tall and the length of the XL is perfect for lower leg.

These Keep My Calves from Swelling Like Nothing Else!
OMG! I love these! At first, I took fifteen minutes to get on, broke out in a sweat. It was hysterical! So glad I was alone! But now, is still somewhat not very easy, but in a good way. I have lymphedema in both legs and these have kept my calves from swelling. If they do, is hardly noticeable. Knock on wood! As I’ve seen what this disease does to some people. You can’t tell they have legs and I feel so badly for them. I exercise, have an inversion table and my doctor wants me to lose ten pounds, which I’m in process of doing. I love these. They really keep the swelling done!

The most comfortable compression socks you can buy
I’ve been wearing compression socks for a little over 12 years. My old DME supplier went out of business, so I figured I’d try Amazon and Ames-Walker Supply.Usually, I get the closed-toe compression socks, but this time I figured I’d try out the open toe. They have a great, comfortable fit, and I don’t feel the pinch of the closed toe. There is no silicone top to bind on the top; the socks stay up very well on their own.Since I have longer and fuller calves, the other compression socks I’ve bought have failed to come up to the top of the calf – some of them not even making the ankle. These slid up with little effort – however, if you have taken a shower, they will be a little more difficult to put on at first.I will definitely buy more of these from Ames-Walker via Amazon.

More support please
I have worn support hose all my life and know my size. The firmness was not what I needed but will keep them to wear on lite active days.

Iâbeen using them for years. Just needed a few new pairs. Use them for compression of veins and they work amazingly. Very effective for managing pain in the legs.

Arrived on time as promised. Excellent quality. Soft to touch.

These are supposed to be unisex, I followied the measurement chart very carefully but these are so long, the open toe extends past my toes by 3 inches and they come up over my knee. They also have no grip so they roll down. The compression was good but I canât wear them.

I didn’t actually need them to relieve varicose vein issues, I wanted them as a prosthetic leg cover that would show my toes because I just had a pedicure! (She put nail polish on the foot of my prosthetic leg too).

I would need the open toe knee highs shorter, more like a medium short. This would then fit better, but otherwise the quality is very good.
