This knife has been a game changer. It is incredibly sharp right out of the box with plenty of weight to cut through anything, and seems to be holding it edge so far. No reason this won’t last forever if taken care of.Don’t forget to oil it!

Good value for money, but know what you’re buying
TLDR This blade is great value for money as long as you can sharpen your own knife and know looking after a plain carbon steel knife entails. Factory sharpeness sucked but it was a very easy fix. Everything else is pretty rock solid for the price.Great value for a forged blade. The handle is smooth, not the best I’ve ever felt but not uncomfortable after an hour and a half of prep. The first onion I chopped was a little rough but a light stropping got me through the session quite well. The factory edge was an even enough grind for me but I’d recommend a fresh sharpen. Good news is that the reputation of plain carbon steel taking an edge well seems to hold true, this was incredibly easy to razor sharp. The blade is straight, and I anticipate this will be a long lasting member of my kitchen as long as I keep up on cleaning and oiling.There are two reasons you are probably looking at this knife. First, you’re interested in trying this unique profile, I can confirm it’s pretty unique, but it feels great. A little practice and it makes fast dicing a breeze. Second, you’re interested in plain carbon blade that isn’t a custom blacksmith commission costing a fortune. I’ve only been using it a few days, but I already love how pleasant this was to sharpen and I’ve already got a very light patina, which I find lovely. I love my kitchen tools to have a character. I’m only knocking it down a star for the poor cutting quality of the factory edge, but the bevel was fine so it cleaned up in just a minute on a 1000 stone.

Saw commercials for these types of knives, and started looking at the brands, prices and reviews. I bought this one and we were not disappointed, it’s a heavy knife and has a really sharp blade. It is also a very manly knife, which my husband loved. Definitely recommend and maybe look at future purchases in different sizes and shapes too.
