Glad I finally tried this-superb
I used the castor oil shampoo and rice waterconditioner. I did read the directions, otherwise I might have been lost. I have long, fragile, ultra fine hair. I sudsed up easily. Concentrating mainly on my scalp. Nice light foamy bubbles. Rinsed, used conditioner. Probably over did it, but let set while I continued my shower. Rinsed. It seemed my hair was less wet? Went to brush out tangles after blotting. I had zero snags. Zero. Never in my life have I had that occur. It’s still damp but I have body. It smells just wonderful. Light and clean. Converted. Yay!

I just received this and have washed my hair twice. I have color treated, wavy hair and a LOT of hair. Although, for me, there was a learning curve with the shampoo, it doesn’t foam up as easily as a liquid, it was amazing! This is the first time in many years that I have been able to comb through my just-washed hair without using multiple detangling products! That sold me.In addition to that, I allowed my hair to air dry, did a quick style dry around the face and scrunched the rest, I was good to good. My hair had body, texture and looked healthy. I was amazed and immediately ordered more!

Set is nice, but price is too high
TLDR: It’s a good set to purchase if you are trying to decide between the formulas or you’re looking for an easy set to travel with.Important information about my hair: I’m 5’1″ with hip length hair that I color using henna. I wash my hair every 7-10 days.I purchased this set partly to try out the formulas, but mostly as an alternative to liquid shampoo/conditioner when traveling. My set did not come with the Rice Water Protein Shampoo, instead it came with two of the RWP Conditioners.For using the product, I rubbed the shampoo directly on my scalp and the conditioner I rubbed along the lengths of my hair.With the Castor Oil Shampoo, I was able to get about 6 washes from the small trial size. For the Coconut Oil conditioner and the Rice Water Protein conditioner, I was able to get about 2-3 from each bar. Note I only use the Shampoo on my scalp and I use the Conditioner only on the lengths of my hip length hair. If you have shorter hair, you should get more uses out of the conditioner.Like others mentioned, when it gets down to the smaller pieces, it’s extremely difficult to use. I have since ordered the full side RWP set with the bags from Kitsch. The bags help tremendously with being able to use the product. I think cutting the feet off some cheap sheer tights would do the trick without having to purchase the bags ($5 a pop, but I ordered a set that came with them).For the price of this set, I would only recommend buying it if you’re really trying to decide between the two formulas or you really want a travel set to reduce your liquids bag when traveling and don’t really care about the brand. Ethique also has a good set that comes with a lotion and bodywash bar. Both seemed fine, though I think I do prefer the Kitsch product, but only marginally.The full sized ones aren’t as pricey. I purchased a set with the full sized bars, a bag for each, and the exfoliator brush for around $28.I did ultimately purchase the full size RWP formula, not because I think it is any better than any other shampoo/conditioner product, I just liked the form factor. I felt it was easier to distribute on my scalp and along the lengths of my hair without a bunch of wasted product (especially with the bags to make it easier to hold). I would not buy this if you’re thinking it’s going to be so much better than other products. It’s average. My hair doesn’t feel greasy until around day 6, so I’m getting a decent time frame out of the shampoo. The conditioner is fine, but nothing to write home about. It makes my hair feel nice, but it’s not a miracle product.

KITSCH offered me a full refund, and I really appreciate this. â¤ï¸This product builds up on your hair with repeated use. I think that if you have coarse, thick hair, it makes it feel even thicker. At least that is what it looks like in their advertising photos.But if you have very fine hair, this product may not be right for you. My fine hair looked clean after a few uses, but I felt like the product deposited a coating that did not rinse off. After continued use, my hair felt heavier and more coated with this product. It did not respond well to styling and felt dirty in a days time. After using my regular shampoo, this coating was removed, and my baby-fine hair was joyfully embraced by me. Not a good option for me or my hair. Good Luck.

I’ve only used the rice water shampoo bar once so far but it felt so much better than what I had been using. My hair felt much cleaner and softer after just the one use. I didn’t use any conditioner that time because I wanted to see how the shampoo felt by itself. This is the first bar I’ve used but definitely liked it better than my liquid soap. The cost of the bars is what has held me back from switching from liquid so I was glad to find the sample pack to give it a try before committing to buying the bigger bars. The two shampoo and conditioner that come in the pack are the ones I saw people recommend for curly hair so was glad to get to try both and see what one will work best for me.
