Fun for Grinch Fans
As someone who grew up as a little kid in the 60’s, I loved the original Dr Seuss TV version of “How The Grinch Stole Christmas.” When I saw this table runner, I just had to order it, since it’s such a happy Xmas memory. I think it will be a fun runner to have on the table for the 2 weeks of Christmas merriment….The table runner itself is pretty good quality overall. I’m not sure why they chose white thread for the hemming around all the edges (pic 2) –black would have been better, IMHO. The fabric feels just OK, not soft but not at all scratchy or too rough; it is a fairly coarse weave, almost like a burlap (pic 3). The colors are strong on the front; the backside is white (pic 3). For under $11, I did not expect luxury quality! I’m not sure if this runner will wash up well or get wrinkled, but I will experiment with line drying as that is likely safer, and will update review this winter if wrinkling after washing is a problem.The runner is a good length for a 4-5′ long table. For my 7 foot table, it doesn’t hang over the edges, obviously, but still looks OK (pic 1). I do wish it came in a 96″ length for long tables.I also tried it on my 40″ long coffee table with some of the extra length just folded on top of itself to see how that would go (see pic 4.) I think that could work if I were to put some cut greens over the side edges to conceal the folded extra cloth.
