Customers say

Customers like the baking capacity, crispy edges, and quality of the product. They mention it’s a great pan for baking, the slices of bread cook perfectly, and it’s sturdy. Some are also happy with how well it works and its weight. However, some customers have reported that the size is too small and the triangle shape won’t fit their kind of recipe. Opinions are mixed on the ease of cleaning and stickiness.

Use butter to coat the pan before putting in sticky scone batter!
Remember folks that cooking is chemistry! That’s why all reviewers have different opinions about this pan. If you have sticky batter that means your dough is dryer and will stick to the pan unless you coat it with butter making sure to get into all the corners with your fingers. Then possibly your scones will just pop out with little clean up to do like mine did. You also got to make sure not to over cook them. As soon as they are light brown take them out of the oven. In my experience no other fat works as well as butter to coat pans that you want your scones to just pop out of, like mine. Clean up is fairly easy and you can use a toothbrush like tool in the corners. The pan is magnificent! You get 8 small scones. I’m full with one, coffee, juice, and fruit. 2 should be a serving if you’re not serving anything else! So the small pan feeds 4 to 8 people! I love the triangle shape! Very classy!

    Excellent Cornbread!!
This browns all sides of the cornbread instead of just the top and bottom. Please note that this must be seasoned properly before it cooks as designed.I seasoned it a couple of times when we first got it but the cornbread still stuck terribly bad.Determined that this was supposed to work properly, I seasoned it really well a couple more times and now it cooks like magic. I used vegetable oil to season ours but you’ll find many methods on the internet.Just a light coat of cooking spray now and no more sticking.Soon as it come out of the oven, go around the edges quickly with a butter knife and turn upside down on a plate. The pieces just fall out now.Even with a regular cast iron pan, m wife can make a perfect pone of cornbread!! Every time!!Bought one for my mother-in-law also.I like to slightly crumble a piece in a glass bowl, microwave for about 30 seconds, cover with buttermilk, salt & pepper, and enjoy.Of course, it’s always good with a big pot of pinto beans, turnip greens, and onions.Cut onions into wedges and soak in apple cider vinegar to serve on the side. It’s best to let the onions soak in the vinegar a couple hours before serving.

    Perfect Pan
This was my first time making scones and they turned out fantastic (cinnamon and raisins). I was intimidated at first but they were really easy to bake in the pan. I sprayed the pan with Baker’s Joy and they did not stick. Even though after cutting them using my bench scraper I did not need the pan but the pan is a pro touch. I love it and would definitely recommend it. By the way it’s very heavy and sturdy.

    Perfect!
I’ve had this wedge cast iron skillet for a few years now and it’s still working great! My cornbread always comes out perfectly and is easy to wipe clean.

Smaller than expected, but useful. Needs seasoning.
I’m not a fan of Lodge cast iron (it’s crudely made and very coarse) but I bought this to make corn bread wedges. It needs a lot of seasoning, but I am experienced with cast iron cookware so I know that Crisco is the way to go. Don’t start with corn bread, brownies or muffins, they will stick until the pan is seasoned. So I coated the pan heavily with Crisco and made multiple batches of dinner rolls—none of them stuck. My big complaint is the pan is small and the wedges are less than 3 inches long. The rolls made good dippers for sopping up gravy from stew.

    Love This Pan
After years of using a ceramic wedge pan that finally cracked, I decided it’s time for cast iron. This one is great quality and does what I need. Once seasoned, it’s fairly easy to clean and I haven’t had trouble with anything sticking thus far.

    Made excellent takoyaki
Yes, it was a bit heavy to handle, but I was able to make fantastic takoyaki without worrying about any chemical concerns. The taste was delicious, and the shape was definitely unique compared to traditional takoyaki. I absolutely loved it! Thank you so much, Lodge!

OMG it’s only a itzy baby one. It’s only 8.5 inches (inside diameter) but I do love it! I’ll be so perfect for scones or small biscuits too. It’s great!
