Great protein substitute for chicken, work well with many dishes!
I use the Skallops as chicken in dishes and they absorb flavors very well. In the photos I made them as a teriyaki dish. In extra virgin olive oil, I sautéed fresh garlic, onions, red peppers, green peppers, shredded carrots, cabbage and cashews. Then added the Skallops which I had ripped up into smaller pieces. I find the texture to be better that way. I drizzled some Yoshidaâs teriyaki sauce/marinade over the stir fry. Then added just a little bit of sesame oil for taste. I like adding a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for some heat. I also like having the (bagged) sweet kale mix salad with poppy seed dressing on the sideâ¦.. just in case anybody would like to prepare this the way I did. Itâs really really good! (Just be sure not to overdo it with the teriyaki because I did that the first time and it was too sweet and saucy.)I definitely recommend the Skallops. Itâs fun experimenting different dishes with them! Thereâs enough in the can for a few meals so itâs worth the money.

Awesome Weird Food
If you weren’t a Seventh Day Adventist, you probably didn’t grow up eating these. While they were not my favorite vege meat as a kid, They are very versatile. They don’t have a lot of flavor in and of themselves, so you want to use them like a protein base such as chicken and batter or bake them into something. They are just as I remember as a kid though, and I battered them in egg, and used some bread crumbs and Mrs. Dash and viola! My kids actually liked them. This may be weird but I like them breaded, fried and dipped in ketchup.

My brain didn’t register it as scallops, BUT….
…rather, this had a SPAM kind of texture…WHICH I LOVED! The flavor is decent and neutral, without having that “wheat gluten” flavor. I would and will get this again. It’s nice to have something that I don’t have to make to enjoy later, I can just open a can and have something to enjoy. These browned nicely and had a mild flavor, so it won’t overpower what you’re making.

Costs to much and cans are to small!
Atlantic natural foods needs to sell this company to someone who knows what they are doing! Cans are all smaller then when Loma Linda and Worthington owned it. They jacked the price up and made the portions smaller and changed the recipe on many of the products. They screwed up a good thing! The little tiny baby food Cans came dented!
