I want my 5 mins back!
This âbookâ is more like a paragraph on every method of preserving – it seriously took about 5 minutes to get through… No instructions, no recipes, no mention of tools and supplies. This book is exceedingly short and lacks actual substance on the subject.

I knew this âbookâ was inexpensive and short. Itâs also both wordy and nearly devoid of useful content. There are many more useful sources out there for a little more money.

As a food journalist for more than 40 years, I’m very interested in food preservation. This book is more of a “why to” than a “how to,” but it will definitely improve your understanding of the many methods of food preservation, and how to choose which type suits your current needs. There are safety issues to consider in preserving food, whether by canning, dehydrating, freezing, or smoking/salting, and this book covers all those issues thoroughly. A nice piece of work!

Keep in mind this is a guide. A good overview of food preservation. And different types that is. Meats, veggies, fruits, and the different methods one can do it.I will say, I would like more direct instructions on how to exactly do it, rather than a guide of what you can do. Leaving the reader to have to go on the internet to search for more specific instructions. Either way, it opened my eyes to become self sustainable. Worth the read.
