Great Value
This is a great shoe, especially for the price. I wear a menâs shoe size 9 and the menâs medium fits perfectly. I received a foot fracture and have slowly transitioned from no weight on the fracture, to walking in a boot, to now waking in this shoe. The velcro strap is extra long but easily cut to the right length. It is comfortable and light. The square toe is ideal because I easily bump into things and it protects my foot from further damage.

Works well to shift weight bearing from broken toes to middle & heel of foot
I broke the base of my big toe and the second toe while on a cruise vacation, and this shoe is much better than the custom splint the medical bay created for me on the ship. It’s quick and easy to put on and off. The ankle velcro strap is quite long, but they have included a small piece of velcro that can be moved back and forth to double the end up and customize the strap to your needs. (You could also cut it if you prefer.) Doing what I did creates a little loop on the end so the ankle strap doesn’t slide out completely when I take the shoe off, making it quicker and easier to put on each time.For nighttime use I put a non-slip sock on my good foot to get to and from the bathroom, but the height of the toe boot does make walking awkward. So for the majority of time I wear a solid athletic sneaker on the good foot which is closer in height. A cane also gives me a bit more balance when using this shoe but it’s not absolutely necessary.My toes do move a bit but it’s very limited. Not as firm as a medical cam-boot but it’s solid. Also, I can definitely tell that the weight bearing has been shifted with this shoe to be further back on the foot, relieving a lot of the pain and pressure on my toes when I walk. And as a side note, I’m a large person so having the weight better distributed away from my broken toes is a huge help!

Weight is definitely on the heel area; bought 3 more shoes
I have a 3rd and 5th metatarsal fractures with a cuboid fracture of the 5th. It has been a week since I broke my foot and I have used this shoe for a few nights.I wear a size 9 Women shoe normally, and bought this shoe in Medium. The fit is good. There is a little room beyond my toes to protect them.Why I bought: The best things about this shoe is being able to quickly put the shoe on when I want to go the bathroom at night without having to spend 5 minutes to thread through the 5 straps of my walking boot. For these shoes, I pull the velcro toe are across and secure then thread the long velcro ankle strap into the buckle. I was hoping I could wear this shoe to the pool instead of the big walking boot, but right now I am thinking maybe not due to the lack of comfort. Maybe in a few more weeks, I will be more used to these shoes.Comfort:For comfort, I am giving the show a “3 stars” because of the comfort. I was hoping I could wear this for every day activities eventually, but I am thinking not right now. The shoe puts the weight on the heel area which is really good, but the plastic of the shoe and the insole is really hard and it puts painful pressure on the back part of the foot. I would not recommend the shoe if you have heel problems.I had bought some gel heel lifters to help with the shoe height difference and putting two gel lifters on the heel makes a big difference in the comfort in being able to step on the shoe for brief periods. I have the”Adjustable Orthopedic Heel Lift,ãUpgrade VersionãPoron Heel Pads Inserts,Max Anti-Shock Heel Cushion for Leg Length Discrepancies,Heel Spurs,Heel Pain, Sports Injuries,and Achilles tendonitis.(Small)”The height of the shoe vs wearing a slip-on slide shoe on the other foot can really cause pressure and pain on your hips and knees because one leg is taller than the other. My hip and knees were hurting after very short times using this shoe. I put on the shoe, stand and sit in a rolling desk chair. I roll my way using my good foot to the bathroom and then stand up and then transfer to another rolling desk chair to get closer to the toilet, then stand again and pivot to sit down.There is the rocking part of the shoe but compared to my walking boot, it is a big difference in comfort and how my foot is positioned. The boot is way better. With the shoe, I feel most of the weight is on the heel then back part of the foot then mid foot before you roll forward. I don’t feel the pressure under my foot with the boot.A week after using, I bought 3 more pairs, so I would have a pair for my bedroom and a pair for downstairs when I am watching TV. Wearing a thick socks and with another week of healing, I don’t find the heel part of the shoes as painful now. The shoe height causes a lot of pain in my hip and lower back, so I am buying the shoe for my non-broken foot so the leg length will be equal. I kept looking at the other fracture shoe reviews, and they don’t seem better: more flexible sole, slippery sole, straps that don’t connect, etc.I did cut a bit off the velcro strap so it wouldn’t be under the shoe.

Worked great for me!
I broke my toe toward the base of my foot and was advised by my Dr., to wear steel bottom shoes/heavy hiking boots with NO FLEX for 6 weeks or else he would have to order me an expensive medical boot.. Tried my clunky, hot hiking boots for a day and was desperate for another option. Luckily, I found this shoe on Amazon & it was a lifesaver. I have worn it comfortably now for about a month and my toe is SO much better. The fit was perfect and the straps are easily adjustable ty cutting off the excess straps to fit a narrow foot like mine. ( I wear a women’s size 6-7. I order the small and I had a l/2″ extra space at the toe.) And it’s so affordable and durable. A lot cooler than a heavy hiking boot with these summer temperatures! I wore it with and without socks. My friends commented that it didn’t even look that weird or noticeable.

Falls 2 stars short of perfect
For the money this boot is great. It’s lightweight and easier to wear than those big heavy post-op boots. BUT, and it’s a large BUT, the top strap is not long enough. After a broken foot and surgery, I must wear an ace bandage around my foot. This boot falls short of being able to fasten it. The toe closure is 3″ too short to accommodate an ace bandage. The ankle strap is quite long which I did cut. So, I ended up wearing this boot and putting the ace bandage around my boot to keep it sturdy and closed.

Fast delivery, comfortable
Just came in the mail today.. I fractured my 5th metatarsal bone in my left foot and ordered this to stabilize it and help me balance . Very affordable and hoping it will help with recovery
