It’s helping me recover, be up and around
As I continue to recover from a bad sprain I’m now using this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer In oder to allow me to walk while protected and stable, finding them to be comfortable and protective. After my injuries my wife ordered this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer along with a boot from Amazon to help me heal. In both cases we are very happy with our choices. They arrived the next day thanks for Amazon Prime, and both have worked well for me.A few weeks ago I took a bad hit, spraining my right ankle and nailing my left knee (don’t ask). As I’ve recovered I’ve had to deal with a bruised foot, the sprain, and needing to support one, while not bothering the other. At this point I continue to have swelling in the ankle, deep bruising in the foot and ankle, but the need to get up and around. I’m finding this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer to be giving me the support I need, but without pain to the deep bruising.Because of the nature of my injuries I’ve been unable to actually put this Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer or my previous boot on by myself. We cannot tell if this is a one person job, but throughout it’s had to be a job I cannot do from my position – so something to keep in mind, but again, it may simply be my injury. The Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer is lightweight and does not hinder my movement. It feels nice as it’s wrapped around the ankle, but again, it’s not hurting nor causing pain across the foot, though I feel protected. I am not wearing socks in these images – as you can see – but these were taken to test the size and take photos for this review. I have since worm them only with socks. While I did not find discomfort wearing no socks, I do feel I’m more comfortable walking with them WITH the socks – as if they give me a little more cushion, but also a feeling of protection. But I THINK I could go without and be fine. * I did wear them around the house that first time without socks for about an hour and I was fine.I like that the ties can be adjusted like a shoe in order to adjust tightness. We’ve worked a few times to get that just right, but it was easy to do and didn’t take too long. I feel the solid, but soft support along the ankle. It keeps me comfortable, but protected. I tried to use them in a pair of slip on casual shoes – the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer did not fit. I am using them in a pair of older gym shoes – I did not want to risk stretching my main pair of gym shoes – and find that the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer works well. My wife had to extend out the shoes and could not really tighten it all the way down – meaning the shoes do feel loose on the foot. But at this point I’m still doing limited walking. I think as I can walk more I’ll continue to use the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer at least another week, and I will have to figure out how to deal with the looser shoe. But as I need to feel protected and strength in the ankle, I’ll deal.In the end I’m very happy with the Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer and will use it as long as I need it. And we’ll keep it around for any… what-if.

Decent Support a little better than an ACE bandage
Bought this because of a bad foot/ankle sprain. I use it when I’m not wearing one of those short orthopedic boots. I’ll wear it more once I start to heal a little better (based on past injuries where I’ve used an ACE bandage for this sort of thing).IF you know how to properly wrap an ace bandage for your ankle – this is similar support. A little more support along the sides to prevent rolling. The two straps that cross and go underneath the arch of the foot are nice, you can pull them tight, and even adjust those with a shoe on.Getting it on and off – depending on how far you can (or can’t) point your toes, you may have to unlace the inner boot part one or more eyelets from the top to give the laces enough slack to get your foot in. That will take a little longer to get it on and off, but that’s fine. There is plenty of room if you do this. Lacing it up is easy, and the lower laces will hold tension while you do the next set up – means you can adjust it per lace and it will hold where you set the tension. The material itself is about what I expected for something of this price range – the materials are thin, so that it can be worn with a shoe. That’s a compromise – If it were bulkier strapping or boot material, it would be too thick to get into a shoe. The thinner material may not last as long if there is a lot of abrasion involved with your use case. IF you wear out other braces with abrasion, you’ll wear this one out too. I won’t, so that isn’t a concern for my use case. Stitching is about average – there is bar tacking on some of the areas so it’s not overly cheap.Velcro is good enough – good heavier hook and loop like on other orthopedic boots.Takes about the same amount of time for me to put this on as wrapping my foot with an ACE bandage. You get a little more support on the sides, but not much (assuming you know how to adjust tension when wrapping a foot with an elastic bandage). For sizing – I guessed based on shoe size and it’s a good fit, size Large (foot is men’s 11, width C-D based on a brannock device) – however – I later measured with a measuring tape, and I’m exactly 13.5″, which is right in the middle of a size Large. That’s the critical measure – up around your ankle over the top of the arch of the foot. Measure with a tape if you can. Piece of string and use a ruler, whatever.Overall – easy to use, easy to set the support where you want it. Materials are decent enough. I’d buy it again.

Don’t bother with Zenith or other cheaper models
This brand was recommended by my doctor. It takes some time to put on, but it offers the best support and it’s comfortable. I love it with Crocs but it works with my orthotic athletic shoes. I tried to save a few buck but the cheaper alts are not even worth testing. They’re too stiff, have edges that dig into your skin and clunky too-wide straps. Don’t bother.

    Good Brace
Good bracing, sizing was a bit off for me and the size purchased based on the description was a tad big in areas but overall good product!

    What a difference!
So simple yet so effective. I have been trying all kinds of compression socks only to find a ‘thick’ band in all the wrong places. These are much thinner but incredibly supportive. It fits in my tennis shoe with sock underneath. I ordered the wrong size and seller promptly sent small (exchanged) and immediately I knew this was for me. If you are considering this product…DO IT. Been struggling for 2 Mos. and now feeling hopeful for full recovery and returning to my daily life with no pain. I hope this review helps someone. Thank you for such a great product.

Helps me stay on the court
Rolled my ankle pretty bad playing ball. Didnt think i needed a brace, just rehab and ankle strenghtening….. until i rolled it again. Im not tryna feel that pain again so i bought this brace to protect my ankle and keep it stable while i play. Its been great for that. Doesnt feel uncomfortable in my shoe. After a while i barely notice its there. But most importantly, it keeps my anlke secure. No pains, no swelling and i can step with full confidence. Im still doing ankle strengthening but ill still wear this brace to prevent further incidents. Contemplating buying another one before bad luck strikes my other ankle.
