First off, these bad boys are 100% cotton
Let me tell you, these Medline 4×4 inch Gauze Sponges are the unsung heroes of every gory, chaotic, “how-did-this-even-happen” disaster you can imagine. Iâve used these more times than I care to admit, and let me tell you, theyâve seen things. Horrible things. Weâre talking full-on horror movie scenesâblood gushing, wounds that make you question your life choices, and injuries that should probably involve a professional, but instead, I slapped some gauze on it and hoped for the best.
First off, these bad boys are 100% cotton, so you know theyâre soft enough to feel like theyâre comforting your wound even as youâre questioning why you ever thought it was a good idea to use a chainsaw while multitasking. And the 8-ply woven fabric? Thatâs some serious blood-soaking power right there. Iâve had cuts where the blood flowed like I was auditioning for a slasher flick, and these gauze sponges soaked it all up like a vampire at an all-you-can-drink buffet.
And let me tell youânon-sterile or not, these gauze sponges know how to survive the carnage. I had a wound that was definitely borderline âcall an ambulance,â but I threw a stack of these gauze sponges on there, and it was like an old-school battlefield triage scene. The blood didnât stand a chance. The gauze fought bravely, turning from white to red like a warrior in the final battle, but it held its ground.
Plus, the 4×4 size is perfect for covering up just enough to keep your arm attached, while still leaving room for people to admire the absolute chaos that led to the injury in the first place. Theyâre like a bandage, but with an edge: âYeah, Iâm bleeding out, but look how absorbent this gauze is. Iâm handling it.â
Need to wrap a gnarly wound that looks like itâs straight out of a zombie apocalypse survival guide? These gauze sponges have you covered. Literally. Wrap âem tight, and suddenly, your limb looks professionally bandaged, even though we all know itâs one wrong move away from turning into a Quentin Tarantino scene.
In conclusion, if youâre prone to accidents, or if you find yourself regularly living in some kind of DIY horror movie, Medline 4×4 Gauze Sponges are the last line of defense between you and a scene straight out of Saw. These sponges have one jobâsoak up the blood and keep you movingâand they do it brilliantly.
P.S. If the gauze turns completely red in 2.5 seconds, itâs probably time to seek helpâor just grab another sponge and keep the horror show going.

Perfect for Wound cleaning.
I needed some threadbare gauze so that I could clean a leg ulcer. These are exactly what I was looking for! I can use them to clean slough from the wound and I also use them for wet to dry debriding so I can get down to that red granular tissue. If youâre looking for gauze for wound cleansing, these wonât disappoint!
I open a square up until the threads are pulled apart, then I wet it and lay in on the slough on the wound. I layer several of them and then let them dry and slowly remove them. The slough comes up with the gauze as you remove the layers. Then I use more squares to finish cleaning off the wound to be dressed.
I will be purchasing these again.
First time ordering install from gap line and I love it perfect for the winter coming. –
Must have
My doctor told me to keep my pubic hair always cover because thatâs where you breathe when pregnant and only use baby soap

Really depends on your needs
(I’d rate these 4 for what I used them for but only 3 for anything else)
I had my teeth all pulled to prepare for dentures & prefer these to the gauze that was used to pack the site.
PRO
— These are thinner so they didn’t make me feel like my mouth was completely stuffed.
— I could use more if I needed thicker gauze for the area.
— There is a lot in the package. I won’t have to buy gauze for a while!
CON
— These might be too “airy” for some needs. They are VERY thin and, even doubled up/folded, they might not work. I think they would stick too easily to some wounds.
— Because they are so thin, they shred easily & can make a mess.
— The packaging was not great – just a flimsy paper covering. Once I opened the package, I had to put use a sealable baggie to keep them as sterile as possible.
There were no negatives for me since I only needed these for my extractions. However, for most uses, these might be too “airy”. You can see from the pics and video what I mean about how thin they are and how I doubled them up.

Gauze pads always helpful to have
I bought these gauze pads to have to put on wounds that are to big for bandaids. And with some triple antibiotic ointment these gauze and some bandage tape works great. E everyone should keep these on hand.

8 ply gauze pads???
I’ve used everything from 4 ply to 12 ply, and I have to say, for an 8 ply gauze sponge, these things are the thinnest 8 ply I’ve ever used. Basically worthless. I was being very generous giving 3 stars. I won’t be ordering these again.

Exactly what I expected
I use gauze pads somewhat often as I have a wound that opens up occasionally, and it’s nice to have a good stack of gauze pads available for cheap whenever I need them. This is exactly what I hoped.

Las use para heridas por abrasión, me gustó que son de buen tamaño y delgadas, porque asà las acomodo según la necesidad de la herida y rinden mucho.
Michele Soucy –
Description not precise enough, thought they were more plushy, but will do the job!
Wendy Maggi –
Me gusto que vienen muchas y son muy fáciles de agarrar
