We tried two brands and this was our winner. A must have for all dog owners!
We trained our Jack Russel to use potty bells in about 2-3 days but I truly believe that any dog can use these with encouragement and consistency. We just said “ring the bells” and jingle them ourselves, then “go outside and potty”. We made it look really fun (I’m sure we looked silly but who cares) after a few times he bumped it with his nose. I’m not even sure if it was accident or on purpose but we made a BIG deal about it and said “GOOD ring the bells!!’. By the end of the second day he would paw at it on demand when we said “ring the bell” and then we would reward him and immediately go outside. By the end of the third day he ran up to it on his own when we were in the other room and rang it. We made sure to come running as fast as we could and make a big deal again and then immediately take him out. Granted we were potty training still so he was going out several times a day. If your dog is older and doesn’t go outside it may take a few days more to get it down. But be persistent and your work will pay off. When it’s really hot or cold outside it’s really nice to not have to play the potty game going out several times and standing around to see if they have to go. This way he can just tell us he has to go! We went on a trip and took them with us to our vacation home thinking it was a long shot he would use them in a different house but to our surprise he still went up and pawed them to go out and potty. I think I’ll start giving these as gifts to new pet owners. I swear by them! I used to have a lab that would paw his leash to go out because I hung it over the doorknob. It really is the same concept just better.
*** Forgot to add that we originally had another brand which we accidentally left in the vacation home mentioned above. When we returned home and discovered they were gone we ordered these. They were cheaper but I actually like the fun colors better and although the bells are a little louder on the other brand I like the lighter weight material on this one. The other one was maybe a bit better quality but it was also heavier (and uglier) and would swing and get stuck in the door when closing it. This one is just cuter and functions better for us.

I love the pattern on the strip. It is very a very sturdy and durable feeling item. I think the bells are just the right sound. They are however very sensitive and jingle at the slightest touch so keep that in mind where you are hanging it from. I opted to hang it right next to the door to avoid any accidental jingles by others walking in and out. We have a 4 pound tiny maltese girl who is skittish to touch things and she had no problem bumping them with her nose. The sound is a light and pleasant jingle, not a starting loud clang. I would recommend this. As far as the color, I love it. From the picture or far away you might wonder if it is a dark aqua/turquoise but up close it has more green to it. The color will mesh well with either greens or blues.

As advertised. My pup finally learned to ring the bell to go outside to potty. Highly recommend this for training.

Mighty Paw Tinkle Bells
Get idea for training your dog to go outside & potty. Our puppy had this down in about a week. Only issue we had was our puppy would ring the bells to go outside to play. It’s almost to effective. The product is well made, it’s easy to hear from anywhere in our home. It also comes with a hook to attach to your wall. I’m really happy with this product and how easy it was to train our puppy.
