For some things, like backpacking, it is relatively easy to find the perfect sock, for others, the matter is nearly intractable because, for instance, when discussing gym socks, there has been a race to the bottom in terms of price. The result is basically a slightly shaped tube without any real structure or support. Fortunately, MUQU sought the high road and created a high value sock that is, nevertheless, not an expensive sock. These socks have more than a little shape, they fit your foot perfectly. The portion around the toes appears designed to address friction. Behind it, a cushioned section –with an unusual checker box pattern– protects the metatarsals. On the plantar side, this section is followed by excellent –for gym socks, outright extraordinary– arch support. On the dorsal side, the area ahead of the arch support is a woven open mesh ventilation area as is the area behind it. The arch support wraps around the entire foot and is structured the same way on the dorsal side as it is on the plantar side. Behind the arch support, another checker box pattern sits ahead of the heel section. The heel section’s fibers flow in a different direction intended to protect against blisters and prevents the sock from moving from friction in the shoe. The leg portion is ribbed and each rib is followed by a thin mesh section so that the sock breathes as well as being absorbent.In my view, this is just about the perfect gym sock. While it might be too thick for Weightlifting shoes, it is certain to fit shoes used for powerlifting perfectly –presumably, those who wear Weightlifting shoes to squat use a slightly looser fit than is commonly the case in Weightlifting–, inside a Nike Metcon, these socks would truly shine. While Weightlifting is a sport of seconds, CrossFit workouts demand extensive efforts that demand much of the human body. Cooling is, arguably, the top demand outside muscle contraction that CrossFit demands from the lifter and these socks are simple AWESOME in that regard. There are shoes designed specifically for the demands of bodybuilding and, for those that are between 4 and 6 inches tall, these socks would be extraordinary in their ability to keep your foot dry and comfortable. As I have not run on purpose for decades, I can only speak of the strengths of this sock in so far as strength sports are concerned. Outdoors, these socks are excellent for throwing as well as for Strength Athletics, in both cases, their breathability and the ability to move moisture away from the skin would make then the best socks you’ve probably ever worn.To me, these socks are a wonder of manufacturing technology and one can scarcely imagine the complexity of the machine that creates these socks. They are 20% cotton, 77% polyester and 3% spandex and they feel like they are going to last a long time.

Decent Lounge Sock – Not Great for Running
Socks fit as expected. They are soft and comfortable, but the material is on the thinner side. I don’t have complaints overall, but if you are looking for a thicker sock (for winter or for working out) these aren’t the best. I’m a bit confused why they are advertised as a “cushioned” sock.

Comfortable and Secure Fit
I’m not sure why these socks are classified as men’s socks. But I assure you that they work just as well for women. I really like these socks. The quality is better than I expected. They’re soft, comfortable, and lightweight. The best feature is the secure fit. I believe that they are one-size-fits-all. They’re stretchy and elastic which allows it to fit suggly to the foot. My only concern was a small amount of shrinkage noticeable after washing. But it’s not a deal breaker. Overall these are a good quality socks.
