Best type for me, excellent pack for sizing
Bought this 3/15/24. The medium definitely fit best. I was able to snip the circles of the large one so I could use it too. Slightly less effective, but still effective and worthwhile. I thought about snipping the small one’s in half to use, but I worry about breathing them in. Still thinking about using them some other way.
I ordered the Medium pack on 5/9/24 and have lost/misplaced the previous ones and 2 of these as well and so here I am again ordering my 3rd 3-pack today.
MUTE is the best so far of the 4 different types of nasal dilators I have tried and for which I gave it 5 stars relative to the others, especially considering they are not custom-made for my nose. Just solely based on their effectiveness for me, I would probably give them a 4.4.
I tried both barrel types (“8 Pack Nose Vents Anti Snoring Devices”) Both worked pretty decent, but the clear ones irritate my nose more. I can only wear them 2-3 nights in a row. Can’t beat the price of $8 though even considering only 2 sizes of each fit my nose. But being thrifty, in this case I did cut the small pair in half which is necessary to go further back in my nose so they work. Being expanded barrels/cylinders, they wonât get sucked in. Again, not as effective, but definitely worthwhile when you lose them all the time. This package included:
-4 various size white, solid, soft silicone ones and
-4 various size clear medium silicone ones.
I also tried the Air Max mediums (2 pack). They seemed to be just as effective as the Mute’s, but I could only wear them 1 night at a time before they became very uncomfortable for me. Lost one of the 2 pairs these too so far.
I have no idea how I can lose so many of these. There is the bed, the nightstand and the sink where I wash them, but never leave them. Do they stick to the sheets and then get lost in the washer? I don’t know. Anybody else lose so many of these?

Softer than Turbine but same discomfort after some time
I was hoping that this product would be an improvement from the more rigid feeling of the Turbine dilator, which had started to cause significant pain, irritation and bleeding on my septum where it sat. I bought the small size, which had been my fit on the Turbine (bought the multi-size pack earlier to test this) and the first week was amazing. The Mute is much softer in consistency to the point where it is a bit more difficult to place since it doesn’t slide into the nasal passage as easily due to being more flaccid, but it was initially much more comfortable. My individual size requirements didn’t necessitate enlarging the stents. Being able to breathe through my nose at night made my sleep so much better–can’t comment as to the anti-snore aspect unfortunately (no one around to give feedback). However, after about a week of use the familiar irritation began again: at this point almost 2 weeks after re-starting use with the Mute since discontinuing the Turbine and allowing for healing, I am back to the inability to wear this without pain and bleeding upon removal. Again, the stents are not enlarged at all so there is no extra pressure on my nasal septum apart from that which the product applies by virtue of shape alone. The idea is excellent, initial use was incredibly comfortable and vastly improved my sleep quality, and it seems to work beautifully until placement is simply impossible due to the pain aspect. Whether that is simply the shape of my nose or the product itself is up in the air, but I will continue to experiment with different designs from other companies to find what works best for me.

“Mute comfortably dilates each individual nostril to allow more airflow during sleep.” IF ONLY THIS WERE TRUE!
I bought the sample pack to see what size would work optimally for me and have tried to use them for several nights. The medium is a bit small and the large is way too big. The Mute however claims to have an adjustable feature allowing you to adjust it to get a better fit and hence a better experience. “Muteâs independent dilation system (adjustable paddles) allows snorers to counteract any asymmetry by personalising the fit of Mute for maximum airway dilation and comfort (from the FAQ found on web page)”. “To achieve optimal fit, you may need to expand or contract the paddles by gently pulling or pushing the paddles with your fingers which will activate the ratchet mechanism. (from instructions)”.
Unfortunately, the unit I received didn’t work as advertised. I adjusted the paddles per instructions to get the fit just right, I needed the medium sized device to be a big larger in both nostrils and then inserted it into my nose. Within seconds the right side didn’t stay open while the left side did allowing me to breathe freely out of the left side of my nose but not my right. I removed the device several times to re-adjust it only to see that the ratchet system wasn’t holding at all and even the slightest pressure on the paddle caused it to close down to it’s minimal size. I submitted a close-up photo so you can see what I am talking about for those of you who might not understand why this is an issue.
Now, if this was a U.S. based company or perhaps one that cared about it’s customers, there would be a toll free customer service number printed right on the box or on the instruction sheet or on their website but they don’t want to hear from you if you have a problem with their product. Ever notice how virtually every other manufacturer of health related products from band-aids to vitamins, toothbrushes even antiperspirants have a phone number for you to call with questions or comments but not these folks!
So I’m stuck with a defective product that doesn’t work as advertised, which may in fact be due to poor design or manufacturing but as I have no way of contacting the company I’ll never know. If you do not need to use their patented “independent dilation system (adjustable paddles)” then this product may work well for you and if not I would suggest that you look elsewhere. Make sure you have a way to communicate with the manufacturer or distributor if you have any questions or problems, usually a sign of a business that genuinely cares about it’s customers and their satisfaction rather than just moving product.
If you read my other reviews you will find that I am usually very satisfied with the products I have rated.

Me operaron hace años y poco a poco dejó de ser útil la operación (en mi caso, de haber conocido estos antes, no me habrÃa operado). A diferencia de los Turbine que son amarillos, estos son mucho más discretos. No sé qué harÃa sin este aparato. No podrÃa respirar por la nariz, ni mucho menos dormir. En mi caso, yo necesito los talla L para abrir bien la fosa por la que no entra aire (en mi caso, mientras más grande, más aire entra, pero es mi caso).

Was quite effective in a way. Try the trial pack before buying. For me Medium size fitted perfectly.
For the number of usage its very expensive. Recommended usage is for 10 days though i used it for months.
It got teared at the bottom, but not sure on this as i had washed it a couple of times.
But still its expensive even for a normal usage.

Peut-on l’utiliser avec un masque ?
Oui, mais pas super pratique sous le masque vu que ça écarte le nez juste à l’endroit où le masque pince le nez, mais ça passe, au moins on respire mieux.
Pour le choix de la taille :
j’ai testé moyen et grand la différence principale c’est la profondeur.
J’ai utilisé longtemps la taille moyenne, là j’utilise la grande taille pour tester
(ça dépasse pas mal mais pour dormir c’est OK)
En course à pied :
Parfois j’en mets un pour courir, dans ce cas je prends la taille moyenne, plus compact mais arrive a se déplacer, il faut le repositionner.

due anelli tenuti insieme da un ponticello, tutto in silicone. ho usato un dilatatore da anni per cui conosco il sistema. questo dilatatore è un po’ rigido rispetto a quello che usavo prima che, però, non viene spedito in Italia (vai a capire perchè, ne avevo fatto provvista negli USA ma ora sono finiti). per quanto riguarda il comfort, poichè sono abituato, non ho trovato alcun problema. Forse chi li usa per la prima volta potrebbe avere qualche difficoltà per i primi giorni prima di abituarsi. Il prodotto precedente, nonostante fosse previsto per 30gg, l’ho usato in realtà per diversi mesi prima che il silicone cedesse. Spero che anche questo si comporti così. Questo mi permette di ammortizzare il costo che altrimenti sarebbe eccessivo (alternativa con cerotti).
