Bought for funeral favors
I never knew that funeral and favor could be used in a sentence until this year. But they can. I was making goodie bags for my little brother’s service and thought that it would be sentimental to give out little stones in shapes and colors. I know my brother loved gemstones maybe not as much as I do but enough for me to think this would be a good gift to the guests and they were. They were popular with those who were interested in taking a bag of something with them. I have these stones with packages of forget-me-not seeds. People liked picking out their own stone and shape and color. I feel like there was a nice selection of gemstones with this purchase. I had quite a few left over and I’ve put them in a candy dish. Hopefully nobody tries to eat them lol. But they are really pretty. I think I might make myself sad if I sat and looked at them. But perhaps if I have guests over at my house they might reminisce about my brother and I can invite them to take a stone with them if they had missed his service. Another idea for these stones would be to put them in a tiny terrarium or put them on top of one of the plants I received following his tragic death. Stones like this can help decorate houseplants nicely. The only downside to that is it’s harder to tell the plant needs water or not so you might accidentally over water or underwater your plant. These also would just be nice to put in a little box and have on your desk at work and look at them and think about things if that’s something that makes you happy. For me I just have them on the table in case someday one of my brother’s friends or family members comes over and wants to take a little memory with them. I think these were definitely a good value and I’ve thought about ordering more that aren’t associated with his funeral service so I could enjoy them maybe without feeling sad about losing my only brother and sibling.
