What Are Runes?
The word ‘rune’ simply means mystery, whisper or secret and it’s a form of divination or oracle reading system that’s used to help gain insight into situations or questions. Runes can be made of various materials, but are most commonly made of stone, and feature a symbol from the runic alphabet on them.
There are various different types of runic alphabets used on runes, with one of the oldest ones being the old Germanic runic alphabet known as ‘Elder Futhark’. The Elder Futhark contains 24 runes, the first six of which spell out the word ‘futhark’.
Over time this was adapted and in order to use it to write in Anglo-Saxon or Old English, a number of other runes were added to the alphabet, bringing it up to 33. This is known as the Anglo-Saxon Futhorc.
Another adaptation is the Younger, or Scandinavian, Futhark, which is believed to have been used in Scandinavia until the 17th century. All of these variations highlight changes that were made as people moved and emigrated to different countries.
As well as each rune symbol being a letter of the alphabet, they also have symbolic meanings too. Although many of these date back to traditional meanings, which would have meant a lot to the people using the runic alphabet, the intention behind the symbols still has relevance today.

Outstanding Craftsmanship
These are what I have been looking for! I practice Celtic Magick and these are perfect for seer work and divination with Ogham. Unique and original, finely crafted and comes in an elegant box. The guidebook is detailed and super helpful.

Beautiful!
I love this set!!

HORRIBLE
So the runes themselves are nice but theyâre are DEFINITELY misprints, the box is SUPER cheaply made and already fallen apart as soon as I opened it for the first time, the book is complete trash and a waste of paper! Thereâs a TON of mistakes and misprints in it and no meanings attached to quite a few runes! DEFINITELY not worth the $30 I spent on them! If I would have known this is what theyâd be like, I would not of even bought them at all, not even for $5! I would rate a ZERO stars if I could. Iâm so mad smh, just an absolute waste of trees!!!!

Need better attention to detail before shipping
So I gave 3 stars, only because they are nice look & well made. But there are some screw-ups I don’t have the time to have corrected. One, I ordered this to be delivered to a Amazon Hub locker. They sent it to me through UPS, who are not authorized to deliver to the lockers. They tried twice, instead of passing it off to Amazon to deliver. ð¤¦ââï¸ So they held it, charged me $8 to drive 19 miles to pick it up from them. I picked it up 3 days after the day it was suppose to be delivered. Then on the little box they put “Ecoiac” in Ogham rûns, which is neither Gaelic or English. Have no clue what it is suppose to be. Unless they spelled Ãiceaice wrong, which means Ecology in Gaelic. Then the “Gort” (Ivy) stave is missing. Instead, they sent me 2 “Getal” (Broom) staves. ð¤¦ââï¸ I can actually correct that. But I can’t fix the “Eamhancholl” Stave. It’s on the wrong side of the stave. ð¤¦ââï¸Overall, they are nice looking. But they need to correct future “Eamhancholl” staves (it goes on the left side of the stave, not the right.), and make sure each box has the correct complete set. And for the love of the gods, stop using UPS. They screw up the delivery on me everytime. Use FedEx. Never an issue with them.

Beautiful staves, but incomplete.
This is a beautiful set of laser-cut Ogham Staves. My only complaint is that I received two with the symbol for “Z” and the set did not include the “G”.While disappointing, it is easily corrected on one of the staves using black paint or a Sharpie. That being said, I would love to have that one piece replaced but have been unable to contact the seller.

Better than Expected
Based on previous reviews, my hopes werenât too high for these to be perfect, so theyâve exceeded my expectations! There are no duplicates, the information in the book is accurate (as accurate as google, at least) and more thorough than I expected. The box they come in and also that they are made of is a very soft wood thatâs easy to break or scratch- which is my only qualm. However not an issue for me.Iâm incredibly happy with them and I would recommend them.

Gorgeous Runes â Missing guidebook.
I absolutely love the way these Ogham Fuse work and look. They are the perfect size, in a perfect box. The problem is that there are no instructions, and I even ordered a set for a girlfriend which was delivered complete while this is my second attempt for a complete set and book on my end.

Like color & style.
Book wasn’t too helpful, but I have been reading for years. Been nice to have a bag inside instead of all the great packaging.

I recently acquired TheDarknessUnicorn Ogham’s Fortune Wood Rune Set, and I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase! The set is beautifully crafted, featuring a complete collection of Ogham runes made from natural wood, which adds an earthy and authentic feel to my divination practices. Each rune is etched with care, showcasing intricate designs that reflect the Celtic tree alphabet. The size of the runes is just rightâlarge enough to handle comfortably during readings but small enough to store conveniently in the accompanying pouch. The craftsmanship is evident, and the natural finish of the wood enhances their overall aesthetic appeal, making them not just a tool for divination but also a beautiful addition to my altar.Using this rune set for divination has been an enlightening experience. The Ogham runes resonate deeply with me, and I appreciate the detailed guide that comes with the set. It provides insight into each rune’s meaning, helping me connect with the symbolism and guidance they offer. The runes have become a reliable tool for reflection and decision-making, allowing me to explore different aspects of my life and gain clarity on various situations. I find the readings to be accurate and insightful, and the ability to connect with the ancient Celtic tradition adds a layer of depth to my spiritual practice.Overall, I highly recommend TheDarknessUnicorn Ogham’s Fortune Wood Rune Set to anyone interested in exploring divination or enhancing their spiritual toolkit. Whether youâre a beginner or experienced practitioner, this set is a fantastic choice. It combines beauty, functionality, and authenticity, making it a wonderful gift for yourself or a loved one who appreciates Celtic culture and divination practices. The quality and thoughtfulness of the set truly stand out, and I can see it becoming a cherished part of my spiritual journey for years to come.

A unique and interesting set of runes, this Ogham set is beautifully made and designed – I love the black and pale wood combination and the carving is beautiful.Unfortunately, one of the runes is written incorrectly (Eamhancholl) and the instruction manual has a number of mistakes corrected with quickly placed stickers, which takes away from the overall quality of the set. The manual in general is quite unclear in places but does include some helpful interpretations to get started. The word written on the box seems to be made-up too – my best guess was a reversed ‘Saiorse’ / ‘Saoirse’ meaning ‘freedom’ but it would be nice for that to be included in the manual too.Despite its flaws, the set is still lovely, fascinating, and entirely usable as a fortune telling tool.

I ordered this kit and was very surprised when I received it. I expected the runes to be more robust. These are made on very thin and lightweight wood. The feel of the rune pieces is very cheap. The box is also very disappointing for the same reason. The included booklet that explains what each rune means feels like it has been thrown together with minimal preparation or consideration of the target demographic. This is a very poorly made kit that is disappointing. I would not recommend this.

I ordered these runes but because I’m a practitioner of witchcraft but out of curiosity on the subject. They arrived in a branded box and extremely well wrapped in cling film. Also in the box was an “instruction” booklet.I confess to being a little underwhelmed. The runes and box are created from a very lightweight wood, which has been laser cut and engraved. The black paintwork is patchy and the box feels really flimsy. The runes themselves are also quite lightweight but this will make them easy to use.The booklet that came with them feels a bit thrown together and there were lots of pages where corrective stickers had been used, which all feels a bit lacking in care/detail. The meaninga of each rune were predictably wide and open to interpretation.Given the price of £23.97, at time of review, I just came away feeling that they were somewhat overpriced and that the general appearance was a bit slip dash and rushed. These will be OK for a bit of fun but I don’t see me looking at or using them often.
