My Dog’s All-Time Favorite Toy
The first one of these I ever got her was at Petco on sale for $1 – best $1 ever! The reviews are right, though. The toy doesn’t last forever and it’s not good for aggressive chewers. In my opinion, however, that doesn’t make it a bad toy. Here’s why:Aggressive chewers comments: Getting my sister’s French Bulldog a stuffed toy (that’s shredded in 5 minutes), compared to my Pitbull who does not tear up any toys, but is a stronger chewer when it comes to bones. My pup does not tear this up at all, but my sister’s dog would. My point is: Don’t get your dog a soft toy if your dog ruins soft toys.Regarding the not long-lasting comments: the honking noise mechanism inside eventually pops inside the hole, rendering it honkless. Ours lasted about 6 months. It’s pretty much impossible to fix unless you want to trouble yourself to fix it for 1 good honk each fix. I would, but I do also have a job to get to. My dog does still carry it around in it’s noiseless state, but she doesn’t play with it with the same enthusiasm. How did I resolve this? I bought her 5 ð She’s only on her second, but I decided to stock it because they were on sale for $5.10 – I don’t think I will get rid of any of them. I will just let her play with them on rotation until they fall apart.Besides all that, my dog just simply loves this toy. I have never seen her so happy & playful with a toy. I can’t promise this for your dog, as I can only tell you about mine.We even have a “Sheepy” song.[I have not been paid or given free Sheeps – my Sweet Pea just really loves her Sheepy]

Dog is obsessed
The noise it makes is so weird but my dog loves it. Itâs not a traditional squeak. The size is perfect for her and she loves the rubber type texture of stuff so she chews it constantly. We play fetch with it or just squeeze it for fun because of the weird noise. Itâs super cute and fun to play with so Iâll probably buy another!

Much better than the oinker toys we bought before.
ETA: Dog did manage to dislodge the noisemaker, but I was able to stick it back in and resume grunting. She really loves this. We’ve had this for about a week, and this is much higher quality than the flimsy oinker pigs I bought before. Those lasted about an hour, max. It’s also a lot smaller than those. Be sure to check the dimensions of this toy because I wouldn’t give it to a large dog. For what it is though, I expect that the noise maker will at one point come loose, with any decent play. Definitely supervise play with this toy. My dog is on a special diet for a while, so she can’t play with her usual treat dispenser toys so much right now. This toy is stimulating enough that it is keeping her interest. She even took it outside on her potty break and then brought it back in, because she didn’t want to leave it unattended! I’ll probably order another one.

doesnât squeak
when I unboxed this toy, it squeaked once and then never again. also this toy is hard plastic and not squishy like I was expecting. not durable as my dog who never destroys toys had pieces taken off in minutes and was trying to swallow them.

Great alternative to the grunting pigs!
We go through A LOT of dog toys at my dog based business. The grunting pigs are super cute, but they are also super fragile. It is incredibly easy to dislodge the squeaker. (Grunter?) These are certainly not robust chew toys, but the squeaker is about 30% better at staying put than that of the pigs. It’s also smaller, so it’s easier for the smaller dogs to play with. These are a new favorite!Update: August, 2024 I bought an orange hedgehog. Amazon won’t let me review that separately so I had to add to my sheep review. The orange hedgehog is only 3 stars. It is made of a harder plastic than the bear and the sheep. It also has a standard squeaker, not the grunting of the bear and sheep. But harder plastic DOES NOT mean that it will withstand an aggressive chewer! If your dog likes to “kill the squeaker” they will be able to do so in minutes! This IS NOT a chew toy! If you are looking for a toy for an aggressive chewer, look at the Orbeez line from Outward Hound. The other thing that makes me less enthusiastic about the orange hedgehog is that the yellow paint started flaking off immediately. I will have to scrub it all off because it looks terrible! The dogs don’t care, but their owners sure do! I haven’t had that problem with the sheep or the bears. The orange hedgehog is almost like it’s from a completely different company!

Really fun, but flawed
Iâve bought two of these toys. My dog loves them. However, the grunt noisemaker broke on both of them within a week. The tube detaches from the toy. Iâd buy more if you could fix the issue!

No me gustó, ya que en menos de media hora ya no funcionaba el sonido del oso, el plástico es bueno y aguanta las mordidas, pero muy fácilmente deja de funcionar el sonido que emite 🙁

It doesn’t seem super durable and I used it with a dog that didn’t adopt it as a favourite toy, but it does make some interesting sounds and has been really valuable as a distraction in training. It was the only toy that would reliably get a stealing dog to drop the item they’ve stolen and come and investigate!

This hedgehog is almost double the size of the last one i bought in a store. My 20+kg dog can hardly pick it up. The grunting is also not as good as the squeak of the previous one. All in all rather disappointing
