This fountain is just perfect. Made and looks really well, filters are cheap and accessible, pump is easy to take apart for cleaning, and most of all, unbelievably quiet.The water moving around is louder than the pump itself, we couldn’t believe how quiet it was when we first turned it on.The app is really nice for reminders and notifications when your pet visits the fountain. However, it’s noteworthy that if you have multiple cats, this one is not really optimized to support that, even though you can link multiple cats to the same fountain. So you can point a cheap indoor camera at the fountain to cross-reference the times the app notifies you with recordings from the camera, and you get a cheap individual water-intake-monitoring solution.

Good fountain, not very âsmartâ
The app is supposed to track water intake. Iâve been worried for the last couple of days since I got it because my cats are drinking a considerably low amount of water for two cats in the same apartment. We are topping out around 7 ounces a day. Both my cats are adults and that really was starting to concern me. However, the past couple of days, Iâve noticed that it will alert me to someone drinking water when my cats are right next to me and no one is at the fountain. Likewise, I have watched my cat drink water and received no notification. The fountain itself is nice and easy enough to clean and refill. It has a broken yet and thatâs nice. I like that I can pick it up and change the water without having to unplug or bring the whole unit with me. However, it is certainly not smart and it feels like a money grab for something that is not necessarily serving its purpose.

Great product, but weak pump.
My cat LOVES this water fountain!Some things I like:1. Itâs virtually silent, unless it is running low on water.2. It is the best looking water fountain Iâve seen.3. Cleaning is a breeze because all of the parts come out and are easy to get cleaning tools into.The big downside:Within a month the pump stopped working. The problem with this bowl is, when the pump quits⦠the water drains back into the reservoir leaving my cat no drinking water. Huge concern if Iâm not home.I reached out to customer service and was told to soak the pump in vinegar for two hours and try it again. They also told me the pump comes apart completely and should be dissembled and cleaned every two weeks. Something not mentioned before or in the manual. Although vinegar soaking and cleaning the pump weekly are working, it is a hassle and Iâm still concerned the pump will go out. It struggles to pump water towards the end of the week before its cleaning. Iâve resorted to an extra drinking bowl for my cat if Iâm going to be gone for long.

Great fountain with cool features
I had a different brand stainless steel fountain that worked the same (without any phone features) and for whatever reason, my cats love this one more.Itâs cute, itâs silent, it has smart phone features (which are really useful) and itâs easy to clean. The instructions are super clear.Cleaning the last one I had was a pain but this one is so simple.

Lack of water even when full and other issues
This worked great for like a week and then I went to change the filter and clean it, and now it keeps saying lack of water. The unit is full and the water is flowing fine and Iâve tried resetting , unplugging and plugging back in, and it keeps giving me the same error and quit tracking after that.After posting my review I got an email suggesting troubleshooting tips but that also did not resolve the problem. After opting for an exchange, the new unit has not had the same problem. However the reason I canât give this above 2 stars is the data is not that accurate. I watched my cat drink out from the fountain for about a minute and never received a notification nor did it track what she just drank. And other times with nobody near it, it somehow registers that my pet just drank from it. So I am not sure why this info is so wildly misleading but at least I am not having the lack of water issues any longer.

The overall concept of the fountain is good, it’s just that the whole product should be stainless steel.My cat got chin acne because of the plastic nozzle.Not recommended.
