nice loaves, super easy care baskets
The recipe I used for this bread said it made 1 loaf, so I doubled the recipe, intending to try both proofing baskets. Since the round basket holds more than the oval one, I put âjust a littleâ more dough in the round one. After they were finished proofing, the round one was just right, but the oval one had overflowed the basket. When I went to turn it out, it did stick just a little, but gravity pulled it out after about 10 seconds. Once it was out of the basket, the formed loaf just spread out over the excess dough and it baked up beautifully. I couldnât fit both loaves on one sheet, so I had to bake them separately. The round loaf is really big! It had to sit and wait while the other loaf baked, which may have something to do with the slight indentations in the round loaf. After baking, we enjoyed the bread and I just set the baskets aside for later since they donât need any extra care. That alone is worth the 5 stars. The proofing baskets really do make a difference in the appearance of your loaves, theyâre much nicer than if Iâd (mis)shaped them by hand.
