Primal’s Freeze-Dried Raw Food is Awesome! I am sure their non freeze-dried line is great as well
So I compared ingredients with many (not all) other raw and freeze dried raw dog foods. (Many of which have both the raw food you have to keep in your freezer and the freeze-dried option). Many had the requirements that I was looking for but I felt that the “Primal” brand seemed what I wanted. My problem is, they offer many different meats. I can’t choose! I chose rabbit this time and my dog absolutely goes ga-ga over it! I do not feed it as her main meal because the expense to feed raw is quite expensive. This is a topper over her other food. Over the past month since I have started feeding her this, I have seen her with more energy and she seems to feel really, really good! She is eight now and even though she is still doing agility and lure coursing, she had slown down a bit. Not a lot, but a bit. I thought that this was normal since she is now considered of geriatric age. But now that she has been getting some of “Primal’s” freeze-dried nuggets each feeding. I have seen that difference in her. And she loves it! I love giving it to her now because I have seen that change in her. I don’t know if others have seen changes in their animals in adding this, but it did in my dog. I love this! And! What is wonderful about these freeze-dried raw diets is that they last longer. Professionally prep’d raw diets are good for your dog, but because you have to keep it in your freezer and make sure there are some that are thawed in your fridge it makes it a bit more difficult. But freeze-dried raw diets don’t have to be kept in the freezer or your refrigerator. You do need to rehydrate it before serving. That is, if you would like to do so. I actually, do not rehydrate it. I just give it as a topper. The other food she is on has plenty of moisture in it and I always make sure she has plenty of water available. Taking this food with you and your dog on vacation with you is easy. Anyway, this “Primal” raw freeze-dried food is awesome! I recommend it!

Best choice for my Dog
I use this real meat because this brand uses the correct amount of each bone, meat and fat needed for dogs optimal health. Other brands wonât list the percentage of each of those ingredients. Primal has no fillers and in my opinion is healthier than others. Be sure to add plenty of water though. More than recommended on the package. My dogs like the taste, texture and there are different verities of meats of which I like to rotate. I did have to incorporate the food at a slow pace at first to introduce it to my dogs as you would any new food to prevent diarrhea.

My dog is hesitant to eat any food with seafood flavors. But she will eat this one. I wish they would also make a plain turkey flavor too! Love this brand!

The healthiest food for Dogs!
Raw is the way to go.. so MANY dog foods out there but they are NOT good for dogs. In the wild they would eat mostly protein, not fillers or “added vitamins” Our first Pug lived a healthy life of 18 years on pure raw or freeze dried raw. Our Pug now and mixed breeds coats, skin.. teeth..and overall heath is superb and it has much to do with FOOD. Like humans, we could “exist” on junk food but… This food is expensive but other then regular exams they do not need to see a Vet. which in the long run saves heartache and expense. Our pug (weight 20 pounds) is age ten, our rescue hunting dog is age 8 (weight 23 pounds) both in excellent health. We love our dogs, they are family and I can’t imagine feeding them anything but PRIMAL.

My dog loves this itâs good for travel, but itâs very expensive for no more than you get. I have went to small batch frozen patties. More value for the money. I will buy occasionally the primal freeze dried for travel only.

We have a fussy eater who really doesn’t like most dried dog foods. Primal freeze dried has become her food of choice and ours as well. A good choice of flavors and easy to serve. Also great for traveling. A must to follow handling requirements.
