Aheasoun dog prong collar medium can be a very effective tool in training your dog

Does your dog always pull at the leash? Are all training methods failing you? If so, then it’s time to get a little strict with your canine friend. A medium dog pinch collar is a perfect way to train your stubborn friend without ensuring any pain or injury. Unlike a medium choke collar , it simply pinches the skin on the neck, simulating the effect of another canine nipping at the neck.

A pinch collar, also called a prong collar, is a type of metal chain placed around your dog’s neck. It’s composed of small metal rings linked together and each has a set of prongs that tighten and pinch your dog’s neck when it is being pulled. Similar to a chain bracelet, it is adjusted by removing or adding the links.

A lot of contention happens when dog owners talk about using a pinch collar medium. Because of its looks and its feel on the dog’s neck, a lot of dog owners feel that it isn’t right to use it. However, dog trainers claim that when it is done and applied right, the pincher collar medium can be a very effective tool in training your dog and getting the desired behavior.

Benefits of using a prong collar for medium dogs

They will calm your dog

These collars are great for reducing aggressive behavior in dogs that are hyperactive. It will not happen instantly but after a few days of wearing it, your dog will think twice before being bad. They will be calmer and they will listen to you a lot better while they are wearing a good medium pincher collar.

It is easier for you to train and correct your dog

If you want to train your pet and discipline them, your trainer and vet will recommend a pinch collar for medium dogs to use rather than any other collar. These collars will help your dog behave and be more attentive to your commands. They will learn new tricks faster and become more disciplined in the end. You will not have to yell at your dog and you can forget about punishing them as well.

Better quality walks

These pinch collars medium are great for simple walks as well. Many dog owners face the problem of having their dogs get into a lot of trouble during their daily walks. They have a bad pulling habit and might want to go away from their owner. If these are aspects that you are struggling with as well, a medium pincher collar might be the right solution for you. In a week you will notice that you will not even have a reason to pull the leash anymore as your dog will walk peacefully next to you.

Factors to consider when buying a medium dog prong collar

1.Measure the size and choose the right collar for your dog.

No matter how good the collar is, if it doesn’t fit your dog, it is not going to work for you. Check the size chart that we might have available for you and decide which one will be the best choice.

There are 3 size collars for training dogs at Aheasoun. A certified dog trainer will likely have experience using a prong collar or choke chain to discipline a dog.

If used incorrectly, prong collars can be ineffective or even painful. A prong collar should not be used without consulting a professional dog trainer.

2.Choose a quality prong collar.

Many people are wary of medium prong collars due to the potential for pain. However, purchasing the right kind of prong collar lessens the likelihood your dog will experience pain while wearing it.

Aheasoun Quality Prong Collars with rubber tips are designed to gently pinch the loose skin around the dog’s neck, providing negative reinforcement in the event of pulling and misbehaving. A good collar will never puncture your dog’s skin.

Aheasoun dog prong collar medium is made of high strength stainless steel recommended by trainers. The links for prong collars can provide a stable usage period for your dogs.

3.Make sure you know how to properly fit the collar.

A prong collar must be placed around a dog’s neck in a specific manner to be safe and helpful for training purposes.A prong collar should sit right behind the ears and under the jaw. Placing the collar lower than this will make the collar ineffective.

The part of the collar that hooks onto a leash should be facing upward, just behind a dog’s ears. Never clip the collar below a dog’s jaw or on the side of the neck.

The collar should fit snugly as it doesn’t move around from the proper place. If the collar is loose, consider removing one of the prongs. Frequently chencking the fit of each link will ensure the proper function of this collar.Links that are loose must be tightened by spreading the hooks on each link.

Use dog training collar for only an hour at a time

Aheasoun prong collar for medium dogs is a training device and not designed for longterm use. It is not your dog’s primary collar and should not be used on casual walks or outings.Use the collar for no more than one hour and only during designated training sessions. Using the collar any longer could irritate your dog’s neck.

It is dangerous to use a prong collar as your primary walking collar. Dogs learn by association. If, in the long term, your dog learns to associate pain with pulling he’ll also learn to associate negativity with events that cause him to pull. Most friendly dogs pull in response to seeing other people and animals.

If a prong collar is used on every walk, your dog will learn to associate people and animals with pain. With time, he’ll become timid and even aggressive in the presence of others and might even begin growling and biting.

Love them through knowing and training them

We all know that dogs are cute and adorable. They provide stress relief to anyone who is feeling down and overwhelmed with problems. They sense our feelings even better than humans and they have always been loyal to their owners.

Positive punishment is a technique used by dog trainers and owners when altering the behavior of their dog. Similar to humans, dogs get discouraged when a negative consequence follows a certain action. This is what positive punishment does.

On the other hand, there is another operant conditioning that trainers and owners do. It’s called positive reinforcement wherein they reinforce a dog’s behavior by giving them a reward after the right behavior is done. You can see this when owners give their dogs treats as a reward for walking in the right posture, etc. These two kinds of behavioral conditioning are the most common ways on how trainers and owners teach their dogs how to behave.

Stop using the pincher collar once your dog no longer needs it

You should remember that it only works if your dog knows exactly what you are correcting. Give credit to your dogs because they can understand you, too.

Prong collars medium are not meant for longterm use. Working with a certified trainer, get your dog to a place where he has learned proper leash manners and no longer pulls. Once your dog has mastered good walking techniques, you no longer need to use the collar.

Your paw in my shoulder is enough to understand you want hug.

Your paw in my hand is enough you to show me I’ll be with you trust me.

My anger breaks when you see me with that innocent look.

My pain fades, when you take me to your play.

    Helps with pulling
This collar helps with pulling but is not easy to get on and off due to my dog having a large head. I did get the correct size but his head is much larger than his neck. It would be great if it had a release for removing.

Serves its purpose but has issues
I have used prong collars in the past with my other dogs. I bought this one for a 6month old dog in need of training not to pull. The collar definitely worked for this purpose however, became entangled multiple times and I had to use pliers to untangle it.The other downside is that the collar leaves a gray like residue on my dog’s skin after walks. Unfortunately this is concerning to me and I will not be using it again.

Place safely onto your dogs neck.
Train your dog to sit and safely have the training collar placed onto their neck even during distractions. This training collar is really useful for walking our dogs in the neighborhood. We made sure the fit was appropriate for our dog’s neck with our professional trainer. We ONLY have them on the dogs while walking and holding onto their leashes. We remove the training collar (with leash attached) after the walk or excursion. If used properly these collars are successful!

    Instant relief- update
Update…At first this felt like a breath of fresh air but after our dog attacked another dog with a newly found hatred for other dogs we took him to a trainer and he explained. He told me it was most likely this prong collar that caused the issues. Dogs naturally pull when untrained. Every dog will pull when they see another dog untrained. This creates pain when he sees another dog by following his natural reaction of pulling. Dog associates pain with other animals and sometimes strangers.Nothing wrong with this collars structure build or price but it is absolutely not the correct answer. Have your dog trained properly please. We tossed our prong collar in place of a harness with a front and back connecting point to turn him away from the thing he tries to pull at. A positive reinforcement trainer will solve all your issues70lb Pit- major pulling issues. You need thisOur Pitbull although very nice, was an absolute nut on the leash/harness/whatever. He pulls at every bush, dog, tree, electrical box, squirrel, bird or falling leaf. He even pulled indoors and was starting to scratch up our hardwood. He pulled so much that my arm started to look like quagmire when he discovered the internet. My wife was scared to walk him and our daughter could not walk him at all. We thought we would need special training classes to calm him down from the excitement of being on a walk. After using this for one walk the results are instant. He has turned into a well mannered dog who crosses his paws and reads the newspaper. He says please and thank you and will most likely start cooking gourmet dinners for us soon. He pulls 90% less and understands the distance of the leash.I am happy with this product and like that it comes with with rubber nubs.20ish inch neck. 19.8 inch chain. It has about 2 fingers worth of space before it starts getting tight. Any bigger and i would be afraid he could slip out.Dont be stubborn and say these are harmful/cruel . Save your dog the bruising and choking of regular equipment. You will thank yourself and so will your dog
