Much Better Than The Safe Catch “Elite” Tuna
I’ve been buying the Safe Catch Elite Tuna since 2017, but just got tired of it after awhile. The flavor is very strong and I just wanted a change. Switching to the Wild Albacore was a great decision, as I like it much better.I used to slather the Elite tuna in mayonnaise (avocado oil version) to mask the strong taste. I find that I do not even need the mayo for the Wild Albacore tuna. It has a clean, non-fishy taste and has a pleasant flavor all by itself. Note: the company recommend that you do not drain the liquid from the can but mix it together with the tuna. They say the liquid contains Omega-3 oils and other nutrients, and the tuna will be more moist. I did not keep the liquid at first, but can attest that they are correct, it is much better to keep the liquid and mix it.The quality is consistent and I have re-ordered the 12-pack a few times. I am just trusting them that they are being honest about the low-mercury content, especially since that is what we are paying more for. Before discovering Safe Catch brand, I had not eaten canned tuna more than 8-10 times a year for decades because of the mercury. Now, I eat tuna more than once a week. I just lament that if we weren’t so intent on poisoning our oceans, I wouldn’t have to pay so much to eat “less polluted” tuna!

Great Tuna For An Outlandish Price
I’m normally not a big fan of canned Tuna, but every can has a whole, solid fillet cooked inside the can in it’s own juices. No added water or oils.The flavor is very mild and delious in many dishes. When I want a quick serving of healthy fish it’s a great option.However, I can’t understand why they sell for such an exhorbant price. I sometimes wonder if it’s worth it It is good, but not THAT good, but still better than any other canned tuna I’ve seen.
