Great mat
The mat is perfect for pastry, bread and pasta making. Itâs a bit on the thin side so it could be cut easily if using a knife or pastry cutter too firmly. Otherwise itâs great with the measurements on it, easy to clean, is stable if a bit of water is splashed under it. It was worthâs the $$ to me to have this mat. Since Iâm not the neatest cook, I also use it under my cutting boards to catch moisture or pieces of whatever Iâm cutting up. It also keeps the boards from sliding on the counter. No snell to it at all. Easy to roll up and store it.

I was glad I’d ordered the six foot roll. It seems like a lot in theory, but I had so many uses for the silicone matting that I got to the end of the roll very fast. The main reason I’d ordered it was because I’d been needing a mat large enough to protect a part of my kitchen counter between my sink and my stove, with enough overlap on the stove side to cover the open space between my stove and counter so that stuff would be prevented from falling into the gap. It also needed to STAY IN PLACE, not shift around, while I was cooking. The 16″ width of this silicone mat was exactly wide enough for that purpose and its tackiness keeps it in place on both the counter and my stove. The mat protects the counter from everything from strawberry stains to hot pans to chocolate to raw food. It cleans up fast, I wipe it up with a sudsy sponge and the mat is flexible enough to rinse beneath the sink faucet. Dries fast and doesn’t collect lint. I’ll be using this piece to protect another part of my counter when I’m rolling out dough or cookies, also. (Don’t know why flour is such a filmy thing to try to clean up, but it is, and so it will be nice to have extended protection beyond my regular baking mat.) I used some of the rest of the mat for protecting the two parts of a craft table I use for making shrink plastic charms. I cut two circles for round cake pans so I don’t have to keep using parchment paper. The last piece I use over the aforementioned gap between stove and counter when I don’t need the larger one. It comes in handy for setting cooking implements on, setting hot things on, etc. I got the beige roll. May some day order the other colors if I find a need for more silicone matting.

I decided to explore alternatives on Amazon and came across this product after narrowing down my options. Watching a review video where someone tried to push it off the counter without success convinced me to give it a try.Upon receiving the product, it was neatly folded in a bag, but I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t retain any creases. There was no noticeable smell, and it proved easy to hand wash. However, be cautious of water runoff during washing. For drying, a simple wipe sufficed, but I air-dried it on the top rack of my dishwasher, unfolded. Storing it involved folding and placing it inside a plastic bag within a drawer.This lightweight product has a smooth, grippy silicone feel, ensuring it stays securely on the counter without sliding. It’s easily adjustable, so that your mat is bubble-free, and straight when placed. Importantly, the dough doesn’t stick to the mat, making it a valuable addition to my kitchen tools.I also used this mat so I can roll steam rice rolls. These can be very tricky to roll because they’ll get sticky and you’ll need to lubricate your surface with oil. But I do not need to use oil on this mat. It is already non-stick! According to my sister, I made the best looking steam rice rolls. Thanks to this mat! ð ðð¥°If you are thinking about getting it, just get it. You’ll be pleasantly surprised and will enjoy using it.
