It appears to be made well and of good quality feathers. It’s packaged well and easy to unpackage. THe extension is nice and firm enough to hold in place but also easy to telescope and retract. I would buy it again.

I’ve been using ostrich feather dusters for decades now, so when I saw this one on Amazon/Vine, I leapt to order it. The extendable handle was a big plus in my decision to do so. It arrived quickly, in a very small box, so I was rather amazed that it actually fit! However, upon unboxing the duster, and removing the wrapping around the feathers, it did fluff up nicely, though the feathers themselves are NOT very long, sadly. Back in the day I was able to find feather dusters with feathers up to a foot long, and these are barely half that. The ad is somewhat misleading in showing that. However, the expandable handle is nice and works well, enabling me to get to areas that I previously had to use a stepladder to reach, so that is great. It also feels pretty sturdy even when fully extended. So, despite having to ding this duster one star for the smallish feathers, I am pretty pleased with it, and if this company comes up with a duster with longer feathers, I will want to buy it!

Yes, … you will need a ladder unless you are helping Bilbo Baggins clean his Hobbit-sized home – the one with exceptionally low ceilings. The ceiling and sky lights in my home exceed the limits of the Soarer duster. {I did not remove any stars for this limitation.}I bought the Soarer Extendable Ostrich Feather Duster to help me get rid of the dust bunnies in the upper regions of my home. I discovered that it is not really suited for this purpose without using a ladder. The duster ONLY extends to thirty-eight inches from stem to stern. You will lose at least three inches of this length due to the need to grip the handle. The Soarer folks amplified this problem because their marketing materials highlight the duster’s ability to reach lofty ceilings with a single bound.The feathers on my duster appear to be those that the manufacturer picked up off the factory floor after they made dusters with GENEROUS sized feathers for other brands. The ostrich feathers are extremely soft which means that they work exceptionally well for any job below nine feet. {I am six feet tall, and the effective reach of this duster is about three feet.}The Soarer folks produced a nicely made duster. The wand extends easily and stays at the selected length. The ostrich feathers are extremely soft, albeit on the small side. The grip on the end of the wand has a nice tactile feeling. I am going to use the duster extensively in my cleaning routine, especially around delicate items at or below six feet from the floor.I am giving this duster three stars. The reduction of two stars is due, in part, to problems with the stated length of the fully extended duster and the misrepresentation of the size of the actual feathers.

I did a bit of online research before ordering this ostrich feather duster and found some debate over whether this type of duster is better or worse than a microfiber duster. I won’t try to summarize that debate in this review but simply say that I have tried microfiber dusters and find them great for some tasks but lacking for others. I like the long reach of this Soarer duster with the gentle touch of the feathers for reaching the ceilings of our house to remove cobwebs, strings of dust et al that tend to accumulate there, particularly in corners and during the heating season. Feathers are also preferable for cleaning our delicate crystal and glass light fixtures. The duster I received looks just like – and functions just like – the description in the Amazon listing says it should.
