Even finicky or sick dogs seem to love the Dandy Lamb patties.
Too expensive for long-term use, but I have used the Stella and Chewy patties with three dogs and they loved their Dandy Lamb. Examples: Dog #1. My Airedale terrier, almost 12 years old, was coming to the end of a life marred by severe inflammatory bowel disease. It was hard to get her to eat, even with appetite boosters. But she would eat the Dandy Lamb patties.Dog #2. I babysat for a young Havanese when his owner was dealing with her daughter’s hospitalization. I noticed that he was vomiting frequently, on the chicken -based food his owner was using. I asked her if I could change his food, as I suspected a chicken senstivity — it seems to be more common than many people realize. The dog loved the Dandy Lamb, and the vomiting stopped. I suggested that the owner switch her dog to a lamb-based food, or even to another protein, like salmon.Dog #3, a miniature poodle, was just past puppyhood when I cared for her last time. A frequent visitor, she was healthy and showing no signs of homesickness. But she refused to eat the kibble her owner sent, even when I tried to hand feed her. No dog gets sick on my watch, so I quickly ordered Dandy Lamb. She became a happy, eager eater. I advised her owner to mix it in with her usual food to transition her back to it.All in all, I find lamb-based foods more digestible and well-tolerated for most dogs, but some dogs seem to find other lamb foods, like Canidae, too bland. The Stella and Chewy Dandy Lamb products seem to have a good taste, yet do not irritate sensitive tummies. Unless you thoroughly soak the patties in water before serving them, make sure that your dog drinks more water, because some dogs become a bit constipated otherwise. And remember that lamb will change the color of your dog’s stools, often to a bit yellowish, so don’t be alarmed.

Perfect use as a dry food topper.
My wirehair dachshund is spoiled. She wonât eat her dry kibble without a portion of this freeze dried patty crumpled on top. They are costly, but provides necessary protein in an easy to use form.Iâve been using this product for 5+ years and the consistency has never varied.Highly recommended!

Here’s why Stella & Chewy’s rocks!
I currently have small 3 dogs who have each eaten Stella & Chewy’s since they were adopted, and an immunocompromised foster puppy who’s been on it since she came to us a few weeks ago.Barley is 2.5 and has been eating it since he was a puppy. He has PERFECT teeth, a coat like molten silver, and crystal clear eyes. His weight is perfect and he’s never gassy (which is great because he sleeps practically on my head sometimes).Mr. Growley was 4-5 when we adopted him almost 2 years ago and had an itchy coat, constant gas, and some tooth tartar and decay. Since he’s been with us his skin has cleared up, his coat is snow white and thick and soft, he doesn’t have gas (thank god), and the tartar on his teeth has actually gotten better without any brushing or dental work.Molly was 5 pounds when we got her, somewhat emaciated, and was supposed to be 2 years old. Since she’s been with us, just over a year, she grew 4 pounds (!!!) and is a stocky, but not fat, little bundle of bossy energy. We’re assuming she was younger than 2 and had some growing to do, but the difference is amazing. All 3 of the dogs have great breath (for dogs) and very firm, not stinky poop. Being small dogs they sometimes have accidents in the house but you can NEVER tell it’s happened by the smell – it doesn’t smell at all (weird, huh!). You don’t know until you see it.Baby Girl is a foster and has been with us for about a month (she belongs to the rescue Leave No Paws Behind). She’s about 10 months old and came to us eating whatever the vet was feeding her. She has a genetic immune disorder called dermatomyositis. Her skin was in terrible shape, her eyes were inflamed and runny, and she was very underweight. She had significant hair loss in certain places too. Demodectic mange was ruled out. For the first week I fed her canned puppy food trying to get some weight on her. She STANK. She was so gassy that she’d fart when she squatted to pee. She had runny poop. It was really gross. I decided to hell with the cost and put her on Stella & Chewy’s. She wouldn’t eat the frozen, but went crazy for the freeze-dried. Almost right away the gas and runny poop stopped and her eyes cleared up and looked less inflamed and her skin got much less red. After the first bag was done I switched her to a different brand (I and I Love You) and the results were disastrous. Within a day or two she was itching and scratching, her eyes were gummy, and worse, her skin was breaking out again in little sores and scabs. It was bad enough that I took her in to the vet just to check.I threw the rest of the bag of that food and put her back on Stella & Chewy’s. Within a day or two she had vastly improved, her skin had returned to a light pink instead of red and begun to heal, and her eyes were bright and clear and she was back to her energetic puppy self.Luckily she has now started to eat the frozen version, so that will reduce the cost by about half, but I’ll keep the freeze-dried on hand just in case.I just cannot say enough good things about Stella & Chewy’s. I was laid off a few months ago so money is tight, but we decided this is one place where we will not skimp. There is just such a difference in the dogs’ condition (for the better) when they’re eating Stella & Chewy’s.Disclaimer: I am NOT affiliated with Stella & Chewy’s and have never received anything from them. I just really love their product!Did I mention our cats eat Stella & Chewy’s too? 🙂

Great product but smells heavily of pot
This is a review of both the product and delivery. The product is great my dogs love it. It is very well-made and has a lot of vitamins and minerals and is a great alternative as I normally make my own food but when youâre busy, this is great they love it and itâs good for them now onto the delivery process and the smell of pot. This package was left at the door. We went out to get it and brought it in the entire room smelled like pot. Iâve never smelled anything like it. The bag was like a pot factory that means whoever delivered this was obviously heavily smoking pot. Is this the type of people that Amazon employed? One thing to be able to smoke pot at home or an event, but to get behind the wheel and deliver it to customers and then have the product smells so heavily of weeds that we had to keep the door of the room open to the outside to air out. The bags of food smells I hope that it didnât permeate through the bag. But welcome to the society we now live in, hopefully Amazon will do something about it.

Go to topper for dog food.
Very easy to digest, and easy to crumble or chew for dogs. Versatile, can be used as a treat, meal or topper.

Highly recommend very nutritious and healthy
My dog loves the pork recipe. I did my shopping around for prices and Amazon is the cheapest, REAL Food is going to be expensive the same for humans so instead of giving your dog kibble thatâs gross, processed, rancid and made of corn give them what they deserve nutritious, good tasting food they deserve it.

My dog LOVES this food. He gets so excited for dinner time. Very good ingredients. With the organic fruits and vegetables I’m pretty sure my dog eats better than I do. I break the patties up and add water. It’s expensive but it’s not cost prohibitive for my small 10 lb dog because he doesn’t eat very much. He still has free range access to kibble and he gets one daily special meal with 2 patties at dinner time. I’m pretty sure my dog would be devastated if I stopped buying it for him.
S Higham –
The only thing I didn’t like was the price but the dog food has suited my dog with a sensitive stomach better than anything else. I have tried many types including the Farmer’s Dog which is real food and this is the best by far.

Julie Bergin –
My dogs loved these! You can give them as they are or by adding water, mine preferred them ‘as is’ as they always have plenty of fresh drinking water available.Highly nutritious and a complete diet. Great product!

My dog used to love and go nuts whenever her meal time. She has several allergies and is currently on a food trial. She did great with this rabbit protein. She scratching reduced by more than 50% after 3 weeks. However, this new packet that I received smells totally different from previous batch!! My dog refused to eat!!
