Excellent flavor and texture
I keep about 6 or so cans of this on hand at all times for occasions when my recipe calls for cut up cooked cut-up chicken chunks and my energy level is zero. (Yes, it is cheating.) The only thing to remember is, if adding to pasta or frying with other ingredients, just remember to stir/combine it more gently than you would with a freshly cooked chicken, as it will fall apart more easily. But the finished product is just as good as if you’d used the fresh chicken in my opinion, and easier for grandpa to chew.One other thing I’ve needed to use this chicken for is my dog. He is older, blind, diabetic and now has glaucoma. He gets insulin shots twice a day and pain meds three times a day, and sometimes he just doesn’t feel like eating anything (which he must do). So, I open a can and give him about half of it. It’s the only thing he will eat. He’s worth it. Great time saving product for me and a life saver for my pooch.

Good for chicken salad sandwiches that’s about it but too much sodium
This is the last can of this type of chicken that I will be buying. Not because the quality is bad but because it’s so much less expensive to buy boneless skinless chicken when you find it on sale and then cutting it up. Way too much sodium in this canned stuff. With what I have left in the closet I rinse the chicken off underwater to get as much sodium off of it as I can. From a convenience standpoint it’s actually very tasty and easy for the occasional chicken salad sandwich maker or if you’re camping but I’ve always noticed that this type of chicken doesn’t have the same type of flavor as fresh made of course

Some people may say ODD why 3 stars???? WELL, I have eaten this exact brand quite a few times. BUT this one I got from Amazon, rather than Publix is ODDLY different tasting??? Edible for most part, date was good by a full Year. BUT I could not eat more than 1 sandwich. I toasted my bread AS I ALWAYS DO for this type of Mayo/Chicken OR Tuna sandwich. And after one full wich. I said Nah, I’m not eating rest so I put in Fridge to save for dogs. 2 days went By, I tasted a piece still the same? so I fed a little to Dogs (they both liked it) but threw away 85% of it. Would I buy again Directly through Amazon? 99% chance NOPE. I suppose I can go to Publix tomorrow get a can, try it, and see if it’s the same. BUT I highly doubt it will taste the same???? Regardless as stated, This would NOT be the 1st, 2,3.9, Time I had same brand with good Date. It was 1st Time I got from Amazon. So???? You be the Judge on that 1. Either way, Honest Opinion. Canned chicken can be quite horrible. In Canada itâs hard to find. I bought this brand when I was living in the U.S. itâs delicious. The white meat is tender and tasty. While the price seems a bit high the cost per can is not that bad. As such when I saw them on Amazon I couldnât help but buy them. I have absolutely no issue to recommend them.
