Cheap, but usable.
The handle is good plastic like a black barrel, so it is tough enough. The blade is like a cheap kitchen knife, sharp, but needs a better edge to be good.

Cheap throwaway filet knife. Good enough.
Knife is great for the price. It is made of hard plastic and feels really cheap, kind of like a dollar store knife if you’ve ever seen one. Out of the box the edge was…. hardly serviceable, which is why I docked a star. Seriously the edge it came with was terrible. But it sharpened right up with a few passes on a stone and strop and it fillets fine enough. I like that it folds.Only con other than it feeling cheap and coming with a bad edge is it dulls pretty quickly, but I kind of expected that. That’s okay to me. Overall a good deal but if it was over 8 dollars? I’d use the walmart fillet knife

Great knife for the money
My first impression of this knife what that it was flimsy and wouldn’t hold up. HOWEVER, after using this knife on my surf-fishing trip, I am thoroughly pleased with this knife and could not ask for a better knife for what I used it for and for what it costs. At $7 this was the PERFECT bait and filet knife to carry on my OBX surf fishing trip. While I bought it as a throw-away knife that I don’t care about getting rusted or lost, I found myself carefully sharpening, cleaning, and oiling this knife when I got back. It performed beautifully cutting bait, fileting fish, cutting line/leaders and anything else I asked. And it’s foldable which means I can put it in my pocket without fear of poking or cutting myself. I would highly recommend this knife to any fisherman.ORIGINAL REVIEW BEFORE USE– It’s hard to complain much about a $7 filet knife, I knew I wasn’t buying a super quality knife. BUT, this knife just isn’t going to cut it (pardon my pun). My main complaint with the knife is that the metal backbone of the handle only extends about half-way down the handle, leaving the bottom half of the plastic handle VERY flimsy. The plastic of the handle is already thin but it has sufficient strength where the metal locking mechanism supports it. The bottom half feels like it’s going to collapse and makes the knife feel very dangerous, especially under any pressure. I would not recommend.

Rusted up after first use
It rusted after first use. It is still sharp but showing rust spots. It is not holding up in saltwater to well. i cleaned close to 50 fish with and it is almost done. So i bought another one !!!!

It is a good fillet knife. Good flexibility
Nice little fillet knife it does what it’s supposed to do it has a little flex to the blade like I should as a fillet knife absolutely nothing wrong with this knife that I can see other than the fact that it says China stainless it’s a cheap knife it’s a great little cheap knife. It took a nice sharp edge

Edge wasn’t completely there and tip was bent
Edit. It can baton idk how but I did.It was super easy to get it to hair popping sharp after fixing the 2 issues with it but also if used properly I don’t see any issues with the handle being a issue since I has so much play but fits and handles pretty nice in the hands and has a decent balance to it. Over all it should get some work done but can’t speak for edge retention since I havent used it on anything hard enough to see.If you wanna learn how to fix knifes it wouldn’t be a bad for 8 or so dollars to get at it.

Excellent for the price.
Not quite as nice as my fixed blade nicer fillet knives, but perfect for throwing in a fishing bag just in case. I’ve used it a decent amount and the steel is definitely standard 400 series (very rust proof, easy to sharpen, but dulls after a few uses). I couldn’t be happier for the price.
