Fascinating, lots of information, nice format
Curious about Feng Shui I saw this book for full price at a store, didn’t want to pay that; glad to find it on Amazon!I am amazed at how much Feng Shui there is and find it fascinating. I do not live to this totally but think some of it’s organization is good and good for people. I haven’t finished book yet but have enjoyed realizing my home is rather Feng Shui and it is truly a comfortable home. LOTS of great history, information, different versions/beliefs are listed, easy reading/format, nice pictures.

Excellent source of info
I was looking for a book on feng shui and this is definitely IT. It has plenty of information. Easy enough for beginners to understand and gives you key points on what to do to improve energy flow in your home. The best advice though: “Don’t fix anything that’s not broken.” It might not be an in depth encyclopedia, but it’s a great starting point.

What the title should have said…………..
This is not the first book on Feng Shui that I have read and I thought I had a good working knowledge on how to use Feng Shui. This is the second time I have decided to Feng Shui our house. Since things change over time, you need to recheck what needs improving in your life. After reading the first 215 pages of this book, I am sorry I ever started reading it. I was aware that there was more than one school on Feng Shui and that you should decide which school you liked best or makes the most sense to you; but when an author decides to write a book on this subject, they should state on the cover which school they are going to write about. This author, who studied Oriental medicine & became a therapist, tells you how to use the Eight Directions school of Feng Shui which he states is “a Japanese development of the traditional Chinese compass-based” method. This is very different from other schools I have read about. He tells you a little about just about everything. He mentions what are the best materials to use, what foods you should eat, how you should cook the food, which direction your head should face when you sleep if you have trouble sleeping, etc. The big difference is that he does not give you cures as you go to fix problems. If you are not just starting your home and can not afford to throw everything out and start all over, this book is probably not the best book on the subject to start with. Also, this book centers on your personal chi and what affects it, not redecorating to get the right balance in your home ASAP. Using this method you have to check directions, consider your own numbers, and plan to redo it every year. The books Feng Shui For Dummies and Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life explain in more detail and show you how to use Feng Shui better than this book for me. Of course, neither book is using the Eight Directions school. Getting too much information on too many subjects at once makes the task seem too big to handle. You can get your house in balance first and then consider your personal chi and make any needed changes later.

Since this book arrived i just cant stop reading it and applying the tips and advise, its really good. Even if you are sceptical about feng shui itself it gives you motivation to take a new look at your home and surroundings, also it gives good advise re decorating and furnishings. It has helped me feel calmer too.
