Best DIY essential oil book I’ve come across!
I’ve bought a number of essential oil books over the last few years in the search for a basic understanding of how to use EOs to replace many of the toxic products we use in our home. This book is by FAR the best I’ve found as it is a comprehensive, easy to follow introduction to using essential oils in the home for personal care products, cleaning products, and to replace many OTC pharmaceuticals. There’s a lot of great general information about EOs but also the instructions are clear and the recipes are easy to make. Many of the other books I bought were formatted to list each essential oil with their properties and use (which I found the use part to be vague if you weren’t already educated on how to use EOs) whereas this book is more of a general EO introduction along with some fantastic DIY recipes to replace all the toxic products in the modern American household. I’m very happy with this purchase and would recommend this as a perfect starting point for anyone new to DIY essential oil experimenting.

Worth The Wait (Pre-ordered)
I just received this book after a long pre-order wait. It was definitely worth the wait. I’ve been poring over it for the past few days looking at the plethora of new ideas, recipes, clinical study data, and personal testimonies from Dr. Z and his family as well as his own patients. We’ll be using some of his information in developing our own product lines (which will be showing up this week!) Dr. Z includes overview information about essential oils, where they come from, the different types, and the different ways to use them. He includes lots of safety information and draws heavily from industry expert Robert Tisserand whom I greatly respect. The only criticism I would have is that I think Dr. Z is a bit too liberal with his recommendations for ingesting these oils. He makes the valid point that oils are used as flavoring in the food industry, and this is true. However, they do not appear there anywhere near the volume that shows up in typical recipes essential oils. National and international aromatherapy certifying and registering organizations (such as NAHA and AIA) always require that aromatherapists do not recommend ANY internal use. While I do think there are appropriate occasions – many now backed up with sound clinical evidence, it requires a lot of training to properly understand dosing and how to avoid the potential dangers of ingesting oils. I think he could have done a better job at highlighting more of that info. I also think he could have done a better job at talking about the use of emulsifiers when adding oils to water – such as in a bath. A few drops of oil in the bathtub are never going to dissolve and will float around until they contact your skin the same way as dropping it directly (and neat) onto the skin. Used with an emulsifier though (something that breaks it down and makes is dissolve (or become an emulsion) in water, makes it a wonderful addition to baths as well as water-based skin products. He does cover this and explains it well, but in some other places, where oils are actually being used in water, it doesn’t show up and could lead to some dangerous practicesAll-in-all though, it is an excellent reference and overview of essential oils and aromatherapy. I highly recommend it!

Great content and valuable resource, but poor quality publishing.
Pros: I very much appreciate the easy-to-read helpful “who, what, where, when, how, and why” info about essential oils, with recipes and the references to back up the assertions made about them. Dr. Z knows his stuff! The videos he suggests watching on his website which elaborate and demonstrate his points are also a huge blessing.Cons: Surprised and immediately unimpressed with the “cheap” newsprint paper and pale ink used in this flimsy paperback book. The binding is questionable for a reference manual! After first time flipping back and forth through it in order to put together a list of oils to purchase for the recipes I want to use, I am already concerned that it will begin losing pages, especially in the index. Typo in first sentence I read. Also, this book is very poorly indexed. For instance, there is no chapter on Cancer, and the index has only four pages listed to check, all of which contain info refuting claims that a couple oils may be carcinogenic in some way. Then the reader is directed to “See specific cancers.” Unfortunately, after quickly looking throughout the index, I only found four types of cancer. More information about “cancer-fighting” oils is mixed into other chapters. One sentence (Page 108) lists seven oils that have shown this ability, but only two of these list this property in their specific index notations.SUMMARY: I waited for the book and am thankful for its valuable data, but do not expect it to last long.UPDATE: After having spent a lot more time in the book and its index, I found more references to the cancer-fighting oils of which I spoke above, and am appreciating the organisation of the contents and index better. Still wish the paper/ink quality was better, but otherwise very pleased with this valuable reference material!

Buen contenido. Solo que la pasta es de papel delgado, por lo que es muy suave y frágil DeberÃan de reconsiderar los materiales.

This is one of the best books on essential oils I have ever read or owned. Dr. Zielinski has done an expert job of reading the research and all of the textbooks and boiling the information down into a user friendly book so you don’t have to rely on the conflicting information that is floating all over the internet. I also love that he is unbranded, so his writing is unbiased. Finally, this book contains so many recipes to help with so many personal issues for everyone: mothers, babies, and pets alike! I took the accompanying “Essential Oils for Abundant Living” e-course and I trust this author implicitly. Buy this book; you will be happy you did as it will live in your kitchen forever!

… tra i vostri libri di Aromaterapia.Ottimo, ben fatto e chiarissimo con numerose indicazioni sull’uso degli oli essenziali… anche per chi non è proprio un esperto.Peccato esista solo la versione in inglese.Consigliato comunque.
