Purchased this to make some (cheater) Philly rolls instead of raw salmon because it was more readily available and less expensive than sashimi grade salmon. Just way too many parasites in salmon these days as well – seemed safer. Anyway, the rolls turned out fantastic and the flavor was better than any takeout rolls I’ve gotten in the past. Recommended. Easily.

My all time favorite smoked Salmon is the highest quality hand sliced to order fish. In the absence of such I go for the next best that is available. I have tested and retested ALL smoked Salmon brands offered at WH over the years of my shopping there and there is no question in my mind that this Brand = Spence CO is the most consistent and to both flavor, smoke and overall quality of all brands.It is closest to the best Scottish Salmon that you can find out there in great places like Zabar’s.It is a fish I keep coming to buy and only if not in stock I go to the next best brand on my list.
