Amazing flavor, perfect heat, you’ll never go back
As a long time customer in-store, I’ve found it’s hard to come by on the shelf so I ordered online this time and I wanted to share that this hot sauce will be your go-to if you’re a first time buyer. Let me share some details.A lot of people will get it just for the heat factor, it’s not the hottest sauce around but it is pleasantly more potent than other brands, but that’s where the comparison ends. This sauce here has the best flavor that one could ask for, just a little bit in any recipe in place of other brands completely elevates the flavor profile. It goes good with anything. The black truffle stands out and brings whatever you put it on, or in, to a completely different level. These guys know how to make a great hot sauce and you will not regret your purchase. If you like a little heat the regular one is what I’d recommend but with this one a little goes a long way as well. If you like it hot this is the sauce for you hands down. I swear by truff and I’ll never switch back to the big name brands.As a side note and a disclaimer I’m not paid, I didn’t receive anything free nor do I wish to, truff is just that good.

I will be frank from the get-go and say that I do not love super-spicy foods, but I have a decent tolerance. I prefer spice to be an element of my meal, rather than an overriding quality. For me, this is the IDEAL hot sauce – spicy, sweet, salt, umami, NOT vinegary. It’s a great quirky host(ess) gift to bring to a dinner instead of wine, too, because of the beautiful packaging.If you already know TRUFF hot sauces, this is extremely similar. Compared to the black sauce, I think it has more complexity of flavor with a better balance between the taste elements. To me, the truffle is a little more defined (but mellow, because it’s white truffle), it’s a tad sweeter, and the spice is slightly less. It’s the least hot of the three options, and I find that it doesn’t overpower more subtle dishes. It is my favorite of the TRUFF hot sauces and worth a few extra bucks as an occasional indulgence over the others.If you don’t already know TRUFF, but you’re a fan of truffles, you’re probably going to love this. It’s not so much about upping the spice as it is upping the flavor. Yes, it tastes kind of earthy-funky – it’s made with truffles. It takes basic foods like eggs and hash-browns to a gourmet level, and it justifies the occasional theft of your kids’ chicken nuggets. Having said that, if you want to start somewhere with TRUFF, I’d probably go with their standard black or red. You’ll discover whether or not you like the “family” without spending the extra cash. I think the black and red (hotter) are pretty much identical except for spice levels, so go with whichever level is better for you.How great are TRUFF sauces? My husband and I were gifted the black sauce at Christmas (unlike me, my husband and the gift giver are both the “do the hot-wings challenge then lick the plate” hot-sauce fans). We had finished the bottle by early February, and we BOTH unknowingly bought sets for each other for Valentine’s Day – that’s how much we both love them! My favorite hot sauce
Iâve always been a âcheapâ hot sauce guy. I will spend $2-$3 dollars on a bottle and be happy. The typical, run of the mill, grocery store hot sauces are fine with me. So for me to spend almost 5 times that on one bottle of hot sauce is unheard of! And yet here I am, writing a five star review of a $15 bottle of hot sauce (with more on the way thanks to subscribe and save). Itâs a thick hot sauce with just the right amount of truffle flavor. The spice level out of âfive flamesâ is around a two. Itâs good on everything from pizza to chicken sandwiches to breakfast burritos. I tell everyone I know to try this Truff stuff. Itâs great!

Ignore the 1 star reviews, it’s not bad, but it’s a matter of taste
Comments on food product are always going to be divisive because everyone has different tastes. I saw that this product has >4 stars but the top rated comments are all 1-star saying this is the most disgusting vile thing. And then I went on other places like Reddit and saw similarly a mix of positive and negative comments. Etc. I debated quite at length about whether to try this out, since it’s quite expensive — ideally I could just go to a store or a friend’s place and sample it first. You’re probably going through the same since you’re reading this comment. I can’t prove to you that you’ll like this, but I can at least add my thoughts:TASTE: It’s pretty good. It tastes like premium hot sauce with some truffle flavor. It’s quite thick, and a bit sweet. Maybe the closest approximation is if I took some ketchup, tabasco, and truffle oil, all together. Cost aside, I would gladly slather this onto fries, burger, steak, etc.. anything that I’d normally use hot sauce for.HEAT: It’s not bad. Of course everyone has differing opinions on what is spicy enough, but it’s overall not bad. I am no connoisseur of spiciness or scoville heat index, but I’d say it’s about around the same range as sriracha sauce.TRUFFLE-NESS: Before buying this, make sure you actually like truffles. It’s a distinctive, powerful aroma. I can’t tell you how authentic this actually is, versus if you shaved real truffles into your hot sauce. But it does have a distinct but not overpowering truffle flavor.COST: $18 is a lot for a 6oz bottle of hot sauce. So I would use any of my normal hot sauces (e.g. Secret Aadvark is my go-to), and then use this when I want something special, have guests over, etc. But not for daily use. I would happily give this as a gift.OTHER: It’s in a glass container with a screw top. It’s fine for pouring, but that’s not the ideal container for something that you want to get bits out of. Inevitably when I pour it, it gets on the outside rim. That’s not a dealbreaker, and you probably won’t notice at all, but FYI.

my favorite hot sauce!! Definitely on the pricier side but I feel the quality and taste is worth the extra dough, the truffle flavor comes through and the heat is tame but so flavorful.
