These are the real deal. The city of Tula has been making prianiki for a very, very long time–it’s a cool tradition. If you want to try old style Russian gingerbread, not some cheap knock-off, these are a great place to start. The black currant ones are especially delicious, but then every variety I have tried has been great.

These pryaniki were really good. Like a fig newton but larger, more breading than filling, and they have the brand stamped into the breading. I purchased these through La Rina International Grocery Store and they came in perfect condition so I’d recommend them as first purchase of these treats.
