Simple, effective, easy to use, great value
This device does not feel cheap or flimsy. It works well and is not complicated to use. It is not our first experience with a dog deterrent device, but it is the best one by far. We have purchased a few different dog deterrents. Before we had our dogs, we were surrounded by neighbors with multiple dogs that liked to bark a lot. We bought a Seicosy Weatherproof Indoor/Outdoor Pest Repellent & Ultrasonic Bark Control for Dogs, basically a plug-in dog deterrent box, from Amazon & put it on our back patio. It was supposed to emit a noise whenever a dog barked incessantly, but we doubt that it worked because the dogs kept barking. When our rescued Boxer mix was no longer a puppy, we bought a Remeel Dog Whistle from Amazon to deter her from digging in the yard and to curb her barking in response to the barking neighbor dogs. It worked at the moment but made no difference in the long run because, until we blew the whistle, she continued repeating the unwanted barking whenever she was outside. [On a side note, we got her to stop digging by burying her poop where she was digging. I thought that the idea was absolutely crazy and was doubted that it would work but am so glad that it did.] Later that year, we rescued an older, long-haired Chihuahua who was not fixed, house-broken, or trained in any way; he had âsmall dogâ syndrome, barked a lot, peed on everything, and marked his territory even after he was fixed. When I came across the Mimill Handheld Dog Repellent Ultrasonic Infrared Dog Deterrent similar to this one, I bought it. Of course, I was skeptical of this one, too, but I could tell that each dog knew when the button was pushed and if it was pushed for him or her. The only problem was that since it was our only device, it was âlostâ frequently because someone would use and set it down in a different location, causing a mad search when it was needed. At the end of the day, I was tired of hunting it down and bought a Brellavi just for me. The Brellavi device is kept by the back door to be used when the dogs are outside. I prefer the Brellavi over the Mimill because it works better and is visually more appealing (doesn’t look like a repurposed taser). For our boxer mix, I show it to her before letting her in the backyard, and she tends to not run straight for the fence, but if she does, I click it and make her come inside. For our long-haired Chihuahua, we use it when he goes âpsycho-huahua,â incessantly barking his head off at anyone or anything or growling. As an added benefit, it also works on the neighborsâ dogs who bark whenever they are outside. We also use the Brellavi to break bad habits. For example, since the Chihuahua was not housebroken when we rescued him, he would cock his leg to pee wherever. At first, we were ecstatic when he pottied outside instead of inside the house. We would open the door & say, âGo pee on something, anything; just go pee outside,â but he preferred to pee on the covered patio which was not what we wanted instead of the grass which is what we wanted. Now, when he goes outside, I hold the device, and if he cocks his leg on the patio or deck, I click it, he looks up and runs into the grass to potty. Phew! The Brellavi Anti-Bark Dog Training Equipment and Barking Control Device is user-friendly and effective. It is money well spent. We highly recommend it.

Device helped me keep my dog
I had major issues with my Jack Russel barking at dogs, people and sometimes at nothing. Tried different behavioral methods to curve his barking but nothing was working. I usually don’t like using a device but I was at the end of rope with him.When he started barking out in the yard, I would go to the door and press the device quickly and he would act afraid and run back towards me. After doing this off and on for a week, the dog stopped barking when he was out in the yard.Next I took the device with me when I walked him. If he normally saw another dog walking on the other side of street, he would go wild barking at them. I tried many different things to distract him or correct him but nothing worked. Once I pressed the device, he stopped barking for a few seconds and then continued to bark. I sometimes had to press the device three times before he would continue to walk and stopped his barking. Now I just carry the device and he sees it in my hand. He has stopped barking at people and other dogs when we walk him. This device has been wonderful because I know my neighbors were very annoyed at his barking and we were considering trying to place him in a home or a farm that had large piece of property so his barking wasn’t an issue. His behavior overall has improved tremendously and I contribute this improvement to this device. I do not have to use the device anymore because he has stopped his excessive barking.

Early days but not impressed so far
I could not wait to try out this product as after reading so many great reviews I purchased two of them. I have two Cocker Spaniels and the youngest (1 year) is a constant barker, and she sets off the other one. Firstly, the instructions are a joke. The leaflet inside the package (see photo) has a terrible translation, presumably from Chinese to English. It doesn’t say much about a training aid, but says “This product is mainly used for outdoor environment to prevent dog attacks”. It refers to it as a “super weapon” and says at the end of section 1 “The longer stay in this position, the greater the harm to him, which left helter-skelter”.What does this mean? Does is actually harm the dog? The reviews and FAQs say that it does not, but this is not clear.Under Section 2 “Operations” – it does not say which switch position is Training or Chasing Dogs, but it does state this on the cardboard insert of the packaging which fortunately I did not throw away.And then using it – in position 1 when I pressed the ON button I noticed that my dogs looked toward me at first and when they started barking I used it and told them NO. They did not stop barking even after multiple tries over a couple of days. Position 2 seemed to agitate them and I am concerned that it was hurting their hearing given the comments in the instructions. I have stopped using it for now and may return it.The manufacturer really needs to spend a few dollars on creating proper instructions.

It really depends on your dogâ¦
So I bought this because I absolutely donât believe in shock collars, and it seems like a very humane and useful training tool. The fact is though, the very first time I used it, my dog went into full panic mode and ran into the bedroom and got under the covers in my bed and shivered for an hour. I thought maybe she just needed to get used to it and I tried a couple more times and she does nothing but freak out and be terrified. I gave the device to my neighbor, and it works great for them. It startles her dog just for a second into stopping the behavior and then he goes right on about his normal business. So it could be good, could be not so good. It definitely works if your dog is open to it.

This product is a glorified torch. The sound is no where near ultrasonic and sounds like a house alarm, it doesn’t work in the slightest and you can’t actually turn it on without 3 dumb torch settings being activated, including a illegal red laser. Waste of money…
