A lot larger than I had hoped it would be.
I have a couple barkers that literally drive me batty. Neither dog pays any attention to this particular barker deterrent. I was hoping it would solve my problem. I think maybe they just get so into their barking and are not detered by much of anything.At the moment this is just a large item taking up space on my desk.I wish it worked for my dogs and don’t understand why it works for some dogs and not others.I keep trying different brands, hoping for miracles.

Distracts dog, but a bit too big
This works very well for distracting the dog from barking or jumping or pulling. One quick press of the button and he stops the unwanted behavior to look for where the noise came from. I like that the unit vibrates to let me know the sound went out.While walking, I have found it to be a big help when he pulls or gets excited when seeing another dog or person. One press and he snaps out of it.The biggest drawback for me is that the unit is a bit too large. You can’t discreetly hide it in your hand. The dog can see it easily. The flashing lights on it as it turns on also takes away the element of surprise. The fact that it does stop the undesired behavior, though, makes it a good training tool.As an added benefit, it will work if the neighbor’s dog is annoyingly barking too!There is a flashlight on the base of the unit. A dual purpose gadget for dog owner’s with slightly out of control pups.

An Excellent Training Device because No One Likes a Noisy Dog
I wish I would have known about this wonderful tool over 2 years ago, when our family dog was just a puppy. The dog begins barking as soon as the next door neighbor’s dog approaches the fence between our yards. It seems that our “territorial guard dog” does not tolerate other dogs that approach the fence.This ultrasonic deterrent is such a good training tool, that the dog responded immediately to the audible beeping sound, so I have not had to use the inaudible high frequency button at all, so far. He also responds right away to the flashing lights.At night, I have just used the flashing light on this tool, and the dog quickly and easily learned to come indoors right away. During the day, I am able to press the button to emit 2 beeps and the dog will stop in his tracks, even when neighbors are walking down the sidewalk.There are so many good features to this dog deterrent … a strobe light, the inaudible or audible deterrent, flashlight, and of course the charger is included. I can see why it would be such a good training tool for dogs that are 6 months and older. It will also work well when your neighbor’s dog is incessantly barking in the yard next to you, because this deterrent has a range of 50 feet! It is great to take along when we walk the dog or take him to a park. No one likes a noisy dog.

Only moderately effective for us
I ordered this ultrasonic device because my little 17lb pomsky is very territorial and barks very loudly. It is a serious nuisance when we have people over and she won’t stop barking at them for about 5 minutes. I had high hopes for this little device. It is effective in instances where my dog isn’t truly worked up. However, if she’s in a state, the device only gives her pause for a moment before she resumes barking. It is easy to use and we have tried all of the different modes with her, but have found that it’s not really a great buy for us because our dog is apparently too hard-headed to see reason

Surprisingly this works
My dog barks at every car door slam or neighbor arriving home.She actually stops when you use this. I was surprised.The battery life is ok, but we are not using the flashlight feature.It has a small beep warning button that doesnât work as well but the threat of the vibration sound with the beep is sometimes enough to stop the barking.
