Proper Application of United Ortho Short Air Walker Fracture Boot
Step 1
Open all the straps. Take the liner out of the boot. Place your foot in the liner making sure to slide your heel to the back of the liner.
For proper fit, completely remove the top strap.
*Additional comfort pads provided to fill gaps in the liner and provide additional padding where needed.
Step 2
Close liner starting at your toes. Make sure the liner is snug around your foot and leg.
Step 3
Place your foot with liner inside the boot making sure your heel is pushed all the way to the back of the boot.
Attach and fasten the top strap once your foot is in the proper position.
Step 4
Fasten the straps starting at the toes and working up.
*Toes may extend past end of the liner. If toes extend past rigid shell, a larger size is needed. Be sure your heel is properly positioned in the back of the boot.
*If numbness, tingling, or other discomfort is experienced, loosen the strap until comfortable. If any of these symptoms persist, contact your medical professional.
Step 5
To inflate: Turn “inflate/deflate” know clockwise until it stops turning. Press and release blue air bulb several times until the air liner provides desired support.
*Liner may expand during initial use. Additional pumps may be required to return to desired support.
Step 6
To deflate: Turn “inflate/deflate” knob counterclockwise until it stops turning.
*If air liner is fully deflated, it may take upwards of 50 pumps to feel the desired support.

Has been good protection, comfortable, a good support
After a recent incident where I ended up rolling my ankle into a midlevel sprain I needed a boot. My wife found this United Ortho Short Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot and – thanks to Amazonâs overnight Prime option – we bought it and had it here the next day. After almost three weeks I can say this United Ortho Short Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot has been a great asset for me, helping protect and give a place to heal my foot, while allowing me to also safely walk as soon as I was able to be up on it.The United Ortho Short Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot is mostly well designed with good materials and has stayed strong throughout. I will say, due to my injuries I have been unable to put the United Ortho Short Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot on by myself throughout. My wife has had to do it. From my standpoint, it would be a little hard at times – on and off can be a bit painful, but as we got used to it, less issues happened each time. We also learned a few âshort cutsâ such as having the inner boot inside the outer boot and me setting my foot into the whole unit – rather than putting it into the inner boot and setting both into the outer boot – saving me pain from the narrow opening. The pushbutton air filling mechanism is in an… okay spot. I again could not do it myself until recently, but even for my wife it meant a kind of âbendingâ to reach it for her. And it requires a pretty solid, hefty pumping motion in order to get the air in. Youâll work for it. But with each pump I could feel the air entering and could talk her through what and how much I needed. So from that standpoint, it worked well. And the mechanism works outstandingly well when emptying, Over the three weeks I only – somehow we still canât figure out – accidents released the air once. The inside feels good and comfortable, but equally supportive even without the air. But that air felt so much better once in. I never felt weakness nor discomfort when wearing or walking. I never wore a sock in there, and mostly remained cool and comfortable, but maybe twice I did get a bit hot. Nothing slipping off the outer boot didnât help. Even the inner boot was comfortable alone and while it didnât give them the same level of support, it reminded me to watch out for my ankle and kept it from giving way – I never walked with it alone. The United Ortho Short Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot included two cushioned pads you can set inside, securing with velcro, in order to provide more cushion and aide in proper fit. We used these every time and they worked well. I do wish theyâd include a second set as these two – while still being good and can be used in the future – do take a bit of a beating. It would be nice to have that second set as a back up.In the end Iâm still using this United Ortho Short Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot for another few days to week, and from the first time we slipped it on, my wife and I are both happy with how well it worked. It has helped me through and I am grateful for it. Any âconsâ are so weak they would not keep me from using this now again, or getting another just like it (hoping I never need to, that is).

quality boot
I got this just yesterday. I think I have Plantar fasciitis or at my age just arthritis causing issues. But this boot is really constructed nice. It’s comfortable. You can pump up the air to the level of compression needed. They give you extra pads for support where the boot might rub your skin the wrong way. I have zero complaints. This boot will probably be a best friend to me over the years. Now the only con is the sizing. I got small because I have a size 8 shoe. Small goes up to 8.5. If you wear anything over 8, like 8.5, size up. This shoe just fits and fits perfect. But if I was a 8 and a half it would have been too small. Great price for the value of the boot though.

Quality & padding
This boot is excellent & has just the right padding and support. It’s actually better than the boots given me by Drs. I’ve gone through 6 now & have been in an Ortho boot since May 2022. I didn’t want to return back to Dr who destroyed my foot by misdiagnosis, so I ordered new boot from Amazon, & am very pleased. I will say these boots can be slippery on bottom, so care is needed on wet pavement or floor.First great, easy to use, is high quality.Relieves some of my pain. I had Mortons neuroma large nerve removed.

Yay, I can walk without pain!
Only been wearing this a few days, but it has made a huge difference and made it possible for me to walk. I love the inflate feature because it made the boot feel more secure without having to over-tighten the straps. It does take a few tries to get it perfect and you have to walk around in it awhile to get the fit right, but it felt great and there wasn’t any pain, which is saying a lot because I have a fairly bad sprain and can barely put any weight on it at all. Being able to walk the day after a sprain is a big help when you don’t have a lot of time to be down. The boot is more comfortable if you wear a knee-high sock with it because it can rub on your skin a bit. If it’s cold out, you’ll want a warm sock because it’s amazing how cold your toes can get with only a sock to protect them. I also found that the very front rubbed a bit on my shin, but I saved the foam shipping inserts that came in the boot and use one of them in that spot and it makes it feel much better. I will say that it helps to pair it with a shoe that has a heel on it or you will end up walking lopsided all day and that can throw your hips and back out of alignment. I wore a clog with a 2″ heel and that seemed about right. This isn’t the first boot cast I’ve had, but the last one went all the way to my knee and felt really big and clunky. I still have that one, but I really wanted one that was smaller and easier to get around in. This one is much easier to take and I don’t feel like Frankenstein. Granted, some injuries require the knee-high boot, but if your doctor says you can get away with the shorter one, I absolutely recommend it. Much easier to find pants that fit over this one, although you’ll still want some boot-cut jeans unless you want to tuck them in or roll them up.I will say that the sizing is not perfect. I ordered the medium, which should have been perfect because I wear a size 10 and that puts me right in the middle of the sizing recommendations (8.5 – 12). I did take the liner off and put it on first and then put the boot on (like the instructions suggest), but my toes still hang over the edge. Just a little bit, but I can feel the liner under my toes and it gets a bit uncomfortable after awhile. It’s not horrible, but if I were going to be wearing this more than a couple of weeks, it would start to get annoying. Of course, after reading all the reviews, I get the idea that the large would be way too big so I guess until they come up with more sizes, some people will just have a boot that’s a bit too big and some a bit small. Truly, it’s not that bad, but if you wear a size larger than a 10, you might want to consider sizing up, especially if you’ll be wearing it more than a couple weeks. You might even want to order both sizes and return one of them. It’s worth the small shipping fee to be sure you have the correct size in the beginning. I read reviews before buying it and other people who wear a size 10 said it fit perfect, but everyone is different and nothing fits everyone.I really wish these had existed years ago because I have sprained my ankles many, many times in my life and this would have been extremely helpful during college when I was limping around with just an Ace bandage on. I probably did more damage to my ankles by doing that and I can tell that after wearing this for a few days, my ankle feels better and seems to be healing faster. Probably because it has more support when I’m walking around during the day. Whether you get this boot or another one, I would definitely suggest getting one if you injure your foot or ankle because they really help. One final note — I ordered this and paid extra for overnight shipping and I had it by noon the next day so many thanks to the company for that. I definitely didn’t have time to wait for something like this to arrive and was extra happy that I got it so early in the day.

Pressure points on the heel, very loose support and didn’t have a heel lift option. Not great for an Achilles rupture repair cycle.

Too heavy and too big. Unfortunately you cannot return!
