Easy to use, works well

Works with most USB-A power sources
Although some specifications in the listing are inaccurate, this small LED bulb will work with most USB power sources with a USB-A connector. The title indicates it requires DC5V/5W. Using my 12V USB adapter, the unit draws just barely under 5W after subtracting the power used by the adapter itself. Any source rated to provide at least 1A should be sufficient to power this light. (The smallest power supplies may provide only 0.5A which may not be enough to operate it.)The description and associated images list the cord length variously at 9.8ft and 98.4″ – the cord on the unit I received has an actual length of 101″ or 8.4ft. The length isn’t that important and doesn’t affect how it works as long as you can get power to the location you want to hang the light.Light color is indeed “cool white” as indicated. For night camping use, I prefer a warmer light, more yellow-white than blue-white, but it is as the listing describes. For emergency lighting during a power outage, this light will provide a good view of the objects illuminated, including providing a reasonably accurate color rendition.Illumination coverage is more like a flashlight than a typical lightbulb. The frosted dome does provide some diffusion. This lantern illuminates the area directly under it more than it does areas further off center. On the plus side, it will concentrate its limited light output directly on the surface below the hanging point. For maximum effect, hang the bulb directly over the workspace. It provides some limited illumination outside the focus area. If you want general area illumination, this probably isn’t the best option.For emergency use, this unit will provide lighting from any USB power source (battery pack, laptop computer, etc.) for more time than many light sources. It doesn’t have its own power switch; plug it in when you want light.
