It Takes the Cake… but the tools don’t quite cut it.
The Cake Turntable is the best part of this kit and accounts for most of the price, around $36. The other tools that come with it are OK but not great. They’ll do the job but they’re a little on the cheap side. So if you don’t need the tools you can find just the turntable for almost $10 cheaper elsewhere.The turntable itself is sturdy and feels fairly rugged. It’s nicely made and makes cake decoration much, much easier. I’ve seen other turntables that have glass tops and though they look very nice they make me very anxious. I’d rather have the crash proof aluminum turntable for decorating, then transfer it to a fancier ceramic plate afterwards and spare myself the stress.If you want to go all in on this turntable and the accessories then you’ll get your money’s worth; $25 turntable and about $10 worth of decorating tools. If you’re a beginner then this might be just the starter kit you need. If you’re more experienced, save the $10 and find just the turntable and get yourself some better tools.

As a beginner, great cake deco set
As a beginner in cake decorating, this is a great set! All the tools are enough to do quite a lot. The rubber foot on the cake turntable is so helpful! Really keeps things in place without worrying. The amount of tips and icing smoothers gives so much variety. I make smaller cakes so the short icing smoothers work well for me, but may want to keep that in mind if you want to build taller cakes. So glad I got this!

Lovely turntable, also makes a great display stand
At this time, I’m only reviewing the cake turntable. All the other accessories that came with are items that I already have, so I’ll be keeping some spares and sharing the rest with my kids. I ordered this specifically for the turntable, which has a number of items going for it:1. This turntable spins very smoothly, making it incredibly easy to frost and decorate cakes.2. It also makes cutting brownies, etc. easier. You can cut halfway (or however big your knife is) and spin your item 180 degrees to finish your cuts.3. It’s raised – which is a big deal for me. As a taller person, counterweight usually leaves me bending over for many tasks. This turntables helps keep me more upright.4. It’s pretty enough to be used for display purposes.5. It’s easy to clean.So far, so good. I’ll update if needed.
