A very specialized tool
I think most people who will enjoy this either (a) are studying feng shui in depth or (b) just want a unique and attractive conversational piece. The negative reviews mostly seem to come from folks who didnât understand that isnât meant to be a traditional compass; for example, it points south by design.Itâs very complex for a westerner like me to learn how to use it properly, but if youâre looking for a good resource, look up âFeng shui lo pan compass basicsâ by âPicture Healerâ on youtube. The book Iâm using to study feng shui in general is âA Master Course in Feng-Shuiâ by Eva Wong, should that information be of use to anyone.As far as the quality of the compass, it feels solid to me. Itâs attractive and enjoyable to handle. Iâd say itâs good for the price.

Nice product – well worth the money
Presentation case very nice. Gives graphic detail and symbols. Now, if I could only read it! All written in chinese symbols. An associated product would be a cover plate that is written in English so you could see what it says.Even so, I’m glad I made the purchase.

Valued Gift
This was a much-appreciated holiday gift, and a place of new learning. The compass points south very reliably, so it Is usable as a typical compass (blunt end is North). The rotating dials weâre learning about. It has two levelers to place it completely flat, or know if itâs not. I only wish this came with some small explanation of the dials. Iâd love one in English.

Did not receive, fedex tracking showed the item was delivered to side entrance of address, however someone must have walked off with the package. Maybe in the future a restricted delivery so that items will not be left outside if there is no one to sign for the item.

You get what you pay for…
I gave this compass three stars because the box is beautiful. A very nice dragon and phoenix design.Unfortunately, the compass points to the South! I had planned to display it “closed” and do not plan to use it for navigation so the fact that it points South is somewhat amusing (we are lovers of the tropics); however, the fact that the bright white plastic? piece that houses the compass is bent on two sides and covered by glass is down right UNnecessary and annoying.Don’t tell the manufacturer, but the case really is worth the $19 that I paid for it,… you do get what you pay for.At this point it doesn’t look easy to pop off the ring that holds the glass over the compass’ face to access the bent spots and rotate the needle to alter its perception of which way is North. If we choose to and succeed in fixing it, I will update this review.

Its a genuine Luo Pan. Arrived in good quality for a vintage item. I had friends praise the quality of the design of the Luo Pan itself and the box it comes in. A nice conversation piece to put in the living room even if you don’t know anything about Feng Shui.
