Introducing Vital Farms Restorative Pasture-Raised Organic Eggs

What are regenerative farming practices used by our Restorative Farms?

As pioneers of pasture-raised farming, we are excited to continue raising the standards one egg at a time. While all of the farms we work with already follow incredibly high standards, our approach to regenerative agriculture takes it to the next level. Meet Restorative Eggs: Vital Farms’ eggs produced using regenerative farming practices.

We believe this is farming the way mother nature intended. Our regenerative farmers practice a core set of tenets that promotes rich, nutrient-dense soil and grazing animals. It aims to create a harmonious ecosystem between land and animals that’s good for our girls and leaves the land better than we found it.

Super Delicious, Well Taken Care of At the Farm Level, And Worth The Price!
I appreciate the fact that these eggs are healthy for consumers because the way that the animals are handled, by definition, helps to improve soil health, keeps the waterways much cleaner; subsequently, reducing the impact of climate change. They go through careful inspection as well. Ultimately, the health benefits cannot be overlooked. Plus, they are sooo delicious with their deep orange yolks. These eggs are expensive, but I am happy to invest for the sake of my health.

These chickens are snackin’ and these eggs are smackin’
I made some eggs this morning. I used 4 eggs from a $5 Organic Valley “Free to Forage” carton, and then 2 eggs from this $10 Vital Farms “Restorative Pasture-Raised” carton. I snapped a photo — can you tell the eggs apart? I sure can.The yolks of the $10 Vital Farms “Restorative Pasture-Raised” carton has a rich, orange color. I’ve read that this means the chickens had a more diverse diet with more carotenoids, which comes from marigolds, insects, grass, etc. You know, the things you find in a pasture. So one could surmise that the chickens producing these Vital Farms “Restorative Pasture-Raised” eggs have MORE access to organic pasture than the Organic Valley “Free to Forage” chickens. I like it.Yes, double the price is dramatic. But the truth is: this “restorative” method is the normal I’d like to see again in egg production, and I’d like to see this line continued and expanded.Since I have little intention or resources to lobby for more humane and sustainable farming regulations or start my own chicken farm, I’ll just go ahead and pay the extra $5 each week and hope that it raises the competitive standard. Thanks, chickens!

    Best eggs on the market!
I eat eggs for breakfast every morning, so I’m somewhat of a connoisseur :)These eggs are most delicious and nutritious eggs I’ve found. They are large and the yolks are dark orange, which is a sign of a very nutritious egg, because it means that the chickens are eating a healthy and natural diet. You’ll notice the opposite of this if your buy eggs from highly-processed farms/factories, whereby the eggs will be a milky, light-yellow color.

Delicious Flavor. Dark Yolks. No Gamey Taste
Pros: We compared six brands of eggs & these were the favorite of all involved in the tasting.Delicious, no gamey taste as some of the other pastured eggs had, dark yolks, healthy environment for the hens.Cons: Difficult to find at Whole Foods/Amazon. Not inexpensive, but worth a little extra.

    Great eggs
These eggs are noticeably fresher than regular eggs, have a much darker orange yolk, and taste better in our meals, whether straight as eggs or in recipes such as waffles.

    Best eggs
These eggs have orange color yoke that proves they are truly pasture raised. I hope they become more readily available on Amazon, but since my first purchase, they have been out of stock on Amazon. They are worth the price.

    Tasty but Expensive Eggs
I tried these today, hard-boiled only. They seemed like all the other Organic/CF/PR eggs in various ways, but they did seem to taste better. Still, at around $10.00 a dozen, they better taste good. I can understand the extra cost if the eggs truly are everything they claim they are.
