Delicious seafood, protein and omega 3 packed
Tastes and smells like it just came off the boat, fresh and delicious. It’s hard to find canned fish with over 30g of protein, this fits the bill and was able to hold me over till the next meal, now that’s quality protein.

“Wild Planet Mackerel Fillets: A Healthy Catch with a Flavorful Twist!”
I recently tried the Wild Planet Wild Pacific Mackerel Fillets (SABA), and I have mixed feelings about this product. Here’s a detailed review to help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.**Health Benefits:**One of the major advantages of this product is its nutritional value. Mackerel is known to be a superfood, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and various essential nutrients. These fillets are skin-on and boneless, making them convenient to use in various dishes. If you’re health-conscious and looking to incorporate more Omega-3s into your diet, these mackerel fillets are a great choice.**Taste and Texture:**The taste of these fillets is decent, but it falls short of being the best I’ve had. Mackerel has a unique, slightly strong flavor, which might not be to everyone’s liking. While it’s not bad, it’s not the most flavorful mackerel I’ve tasted. The fillets have a firm texture, and they hold up well when cooked. They’re versatile and can be used in salads, sandwiches, or as a topping for crackers.**Sustainability:**Wild Planet is known for its commitment to sustainability, and this product is no exception. The mackerel is sustainably sourced, which is a significant positive point for those concerned about overfishing and environmental impact.**Cons:**One drawback is the fishy aftertaste, which can be a bit overwhelming for some people. While I don’t mind it, I can see how it might deter others from fully enjoying the fillets.**Repurchase Consideration:**Ultimately, I’m not sure if I would buy these mackerel fillets again. While they’re undeniably healthy and convenient, the taste didn’t quite meet my expectations. I’ve had mackerel that was more flavorful and enjoyable. However, if you’re primarily focused on the health benefits and sustainability, and you don’t mind the slightly fishy aftertaste, these fillets might be a good fit for you. It’s worth trying at least once to see if they align with your palate and dietary preferences.TLDR: The Wild Planet Wild Pacific Mackerel Fillets (SABA) are a nutritious and sustainably sourced option. They have a good taste, though not the best, and the fishy aftertaste could be a drawback for some. Whether or not you choose to repurchase will depend on your personal taste preferences and priorities. If you’re health-focused and eco-conscious, these fillets are certainly worth considering.

Most delicious tasting and healthy mackeral!
The taste is very savory and is super healthy! The only negative is the price is a bit high when its not on sale. When its on sale you can’t pass it up.

Delicious
I am addicted. Iâd been eating King O, but stopped because of quality issues. It was still tasty, but there were odd looking things showing up regularly in cans. Like eyeball looking things and mysterious hard things. No such issues with this. Iâd been worried taste would be different without olive oil, but I actually like it better in water with the salt. I do purchase this brandâs other items, so quality wasnât a concern, more taste which is no longer a concern. Not as cheap as others, but the value is there.

not truly fillets, but perfect for what i need it to do
out of a large flat pack, most are not wholly intact fillets, more like packed canned tunas (with orders of magnitude fewer/lower toxins).i eat a lot of seafood (& meats & fowls) & love my lazy, pan-asian seafood stews. this is a perfect fit for that. the mackerel flavor is marvellous & water packed “saba” mackerel never starts out dry or finishes cook dry (unlike water packed tuna). yes, these are ready to eat safely from the can, but they hold up excellently in a stew – where canned tuna almost always dries out/toughens.if I wanted whole fillets, i’d choose something else, but, in this case, i don’t. throw in whole shelled clams, oysters & mussels. heck, throw in escargot, too.the one & only annoyance is getting every last bit of meat off the uber climgy sides of each can. a small, non-metal spoon or a dedicated medium bristled tootbrush works, but it’s just that much extra effort for a truly lazy cook, like moi.overall, healthy & YUM!
