My daughter favorite toy
I have a 7 year old and we got these to keep in our bedrooms to “talk.” After a few tries if getting used to when to hit the button to talk, she loves them! My husband and her use them daily. Even though it is a small thing, I love having that extra connection to let her know we are always here for her, without getting her a cellphone. Thanks for reading.

Good Range
The package came in good condition and it was really useful for camping. My kids love it. The only problem is that the grip isn’t that good; it slips a little.

Great for adults to use on kayak, hike and snowshoe trips
We’ve used walkie talkies while on our kayaks for years and used to get pretty spendy ones. These walkie talkies are the better way to go. I don’t worry as much about them getting wet as I do with the spendy ones. These are now our go-to walkies. I’ve also started taking them on hikes and snowshoe trips when we have a bigger group. The range is definitely affected when you’re in the trees, but we haven’t had a problem yet with being out of range. On a recent snowshoe trip with 8 of us, I was the sweep and one of the people started having problems with the bindings on his snowshoe. Since people spread out a bit while snowshoeing and it’s not as easy for the front person to turn around, the walkie was very helpful to let the front folks know we were dealing with a problem. We were able to update them as soon as we got their bindings taped up enough to get back to the trailhead. Without the walkies, the folks in front wouldn’t have known unless we yelled loudly enough or used our whistles, which would have worried them until they walked back. So… these are great to have and using these kids walkies are much more affordable than the top of the line ones they have in sporting goods stores.

Rechargeable!
There are some good things about these walkie talkies and some not so good.The good:The range, I was able to go out about half a mile (within line of sight) without any static or signal interference. These walkie talkies are also rechargeable which is a major plus, adding the fact that you can insert the included rechargeable batteries is also a plus. The lanyards that are detachable from the cable are also a nice touch.The not so good:The charging is the old school charging cable (usb 2.0) which many of us don’t have just laying around anymore. That is a problem if you do not have access to this type of cord so be sure to have one on hand in case you need to recharge.Another issue is the fact that the rechargeable batteries take up the space where there could be dual functionality. Some walkie talkies offer the option to recharge with a built in battery and have disposable batteries also inserted as emergency backup power. These walkie talkies do not allow for that option.Lastly, the belt clip. Do not expect to use the belt clip unless you want to lose or potentially break your walkie talkie. They are so flimsy and easily unlatch from the back of the walkie talkie which to me is a major flaw. Be sure to use the lanyard or just put it in your pocket instead.

These walkie talkies are the real deal. Not only are they awesome for kids but theyâre awesome for adults too!The quality is top notch. My son and I have dropped them quite a few times without even a scrape.They can be a bit complicated for younger children so I would definitely recommend thoroughly reading through the instructions so you can give your kids a simple overview. Once you know what youâre doing, they are a blast!They seem to work well at longer ranges too. I walked about a half mile down the street and was able to chat with my son at home.Overall, there walking talkies have all the cool features you would need and are a great value! Highly recommend them!

Fun ‘n….This review is for (their headline description):”Wishouse Walkie Talkies for Kids Rechargeable Long Range,Xmas Birthday Gift for 4 5 6 7 8 9 Year Old Girls,Hiking Gear Camping Games Cool Toys with NOAA,SOS Siren,Lamp,Lanyards,Easy to Use,2 Pack”Fun ‘n functional.I really got these for Misses Shops Too Much and me, just for use around the house and maybe in the event of a power outage (NOAA feature).She’s the main gardener and pool maintainer around our house.I do stuff like this, all the shopping and most of the food/meal prep.One day, as usual, she was in the yard for a long time.I didn’t think anything of it; pretty normal for her.The next thing I know, she comes in soaking wet and tells me she fell in the pool.Not really sure how, but she scraped her ribs.It really scared me…what if she had hit her head, knocked herself out and…Okay, enough drama…so I thought I’m getttin’ these and I’ll just check in with her every so often when she’s out back for extended periods (while I’m inside writing reviews like this…).Yeah, they’re marketed for kids but for this, they work fine.The sound is actually better if you don’t put your mouth right up to the unit, but instead have it at least 6 inches away. Doing that, gives a nice, clear sound.You can “ring” the other device with the button that has a 1/4 note on it, or just push to talk and it warbles a different tone; either will get the other persons attention.The units are hard plastic, so no grippy rubberized sides or back, thought the “talk” button is rubberized.The sides do have a scalloped like texture to help with grip.The antenna is a short stubby fixed antenna.The buttons all work well, the display is clear (LCD) and easy to read.Blue LEDs light the display when (some) buttons are pushed.NOAA comes through loud and clear, when you select the button with the cloud on it; you will have to scroll through a few channels to tune to your area.These are described as “rechargeable” and that’s mostly true.There is a battery compartment that accommodates 3 AA size batteries (per unit).They include 3 rechargeable AA batteries per unit and a split USB charging cable that plugs into both units at one end and a standard USB charging source at the other end (no plug is included).Anyway, when the included rechargeable AA batteries wear out, you can either replace with regular AA’s or get some new rechargeable AA batteries.These would be fun for kids and as I said, are good enough quality to provide useful function.Glad I ordered.I’ve given a 4 star rating based on initial impressions and *perceived* quality, not on long term or frequent use.I hope this review has been helpful and enables you to make an informed purchase decision.I rarely give an overall 5 star rating.
