Fruits and vegetables release ethylene gas. xcivi 12 Pack Produce Preserver Filter Refills for OXO Good Grips GreenSaver Produce Keeper, Extends The Life of Your Fruits and Veggies and Keep Them Fresh LongerThese small packets contain materials that work to keep produce fresher by reducing the ethylene gas that causes them to ripen and age. For me, that is truly a money saver. We live in a rural area with no supermarkets. As a result, when I travel to buy groceries I have to stock up on enough to last for a more than a week. This is the first time that I have purchased the xcivi brand produce preservers, but the ones I currently have are made with the same materials. Separating my produce to keep the ones more sensitive to ethylene gas helps to some degree, but the sachets really extend the time for using the vegetables. I highly recommend this product.

They seem to help
I have a berry keeper. It’s a solid container with 2 slotted baskets that fit inside and a non-sealing lid that sits on top. I slide one of these in between the baskets and they seem to help reduce moisture so my berries stay fresh longer. I swap them out every 2-3 week. Considering how expensive berries are, I’d say they’ve paid for themselves.

I got these for my OXO produce savers. They do the job. But I can’t say that I’ve seen very dramatic results.

Filters work well with Fruit and Vegetables
I would definitely recommend this product to those that cannot eat their fruits and veggies before they turn. It seemed to help them stay fresh longer than they do without the preserver filter. I do not have an OXO and am using the filters just by putting them in my produce drawer. I have used it with lettuce, romaine, carrots and apples and it works very well.

Helps keep produce fresh
These are the best! If you have an OXO good grips produce container you need these bags! They help keep my produce fresher longer. Without it my vegetables would get mushy so fast, but now they last as long as I need them to. Highly recommend!

I have one of the OXO Good Grips GreenSaver Produce Keepers, the 4.3 Qt size. I use it mainly for keeping iceberg lettuce in it and I’m amazed at how long the lettuce stays fresh in that…I’ve had it last over 2 weeks without turning brown. Anyway, these filter refills work well with that and will be great for helping prolong the freshness of my lettuce in my GreenSaver. I would recommend these filters.

Keep produce fresher for longer
This product doesn’t look like much, but it’s what’s inside that counts. I don’t know the science behind what kind of ingredients in these little sachets are able to capture the ethylene gas that are given off by fresh produce as they age causing them to spoil but it’s like magic. Fruit like strawberries and green vegetables like spinach that will quickly spoil or wilt last twice as long, sometimes three to four times as long, in the fridge without going bad. These are designed for the OXO GreenSaver line which stores produce in containers and there is a little compartment for storing these filters, but they work fine even if you just throw a filter into your produce drawer. A great deal when you think about how they extend the life of your fresh fruit and veggies.
