No more slipping in downward dog!
I really don’t like yoga mats, I feel they are restricting during such a freeing activity like yoga. They get in the way, they bunch up, they’re just annoying. Plus, I do yoga in my house on my carpet, not a hard floor. But I can never get comfortable in downward dog because my hands slip and slip and slip. These are perfect. They are the yoga mat without the fuss. They are comfortable to wear, they are easy to put on and take off, and they take up no room at all. I have put them in my purse. I keep them on my bookshelf. You can’t even tell they are there. I have been using them for many months now and I’ve been waiting to write a review because I love them so much, but I wanted to see how they did with regular use.I do yoga about 3 times a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. My wrists feel better while using them and after. I am able to flatten my palms easier. My downward dog is 100% improved. They are now as much a part of my yoga as breathing. I recommend these to experienced yoga practitioners and beginners alike. Yoga has been a part of my life for 17 years. I have taken classes, followed dvd’s, done my own routine and taught a bit. I swear by these wonderful little gloves.I do have one little complaint that isn’t as much of a complaint really as it is an observation. I say that because the little complaint doesn’t affect the usability. The little stretchy bands in between each finger that basically keep the glove in place are comfortable, but they stretch during use, especially during downward dog. I’m not going to say they stretch too far, but I will say I feel like they should be a little stronger. During downward dog, my hands don’t slip at all, there is just a stretch of the bands that is noticeable. Also, I have made the velcro strap around my wrist too tight at times and just had to adjust them. So, a tip maybe? Put them on do a quick wrist roll and forearm stretch and look for digging in from the strap and just straighten it up and then make sure it’s not too tight or too loose. Just right for you.I promise you’ll love them.Oh and I saw a few reviews about doing pull ups and lifting weights and stuff with them. I mean, ya ok, they are gloves but that’s not the intended use! If you actually do yoga, and lift weights as well, get the right gloves for each activity. They are NOT comfortable to lift weights with. There is no protection of the fingers, just the palm. And it pinches when you close your hand around a bar and squeeze. It’s kinda silly to mix yoga with lifting weights anyway.. that’s missing the whole point of yoga. Isn’t it?Namaste!

    They help me
First use by 62 yr old male doing occasional P90X yoga. At first glance I thought, they are not going to fit, but they do and they helped with my work out . It took a few attempts to reposition my back leg during Warrior 2 but now I believe that’s the way I should have been doing it since the beginning . Happy with them, so far..

    Most definitely non-skid and stable
These are excellent for yoga. The sizing is a bit tight so if you know that your measurement is precise to the size chart then size up because the stitching, particularly at the thenar webspace, can feel restrictive. The padding really does keep you from slipping and sliding.

    So great!
I have complications from carpal tunnel surgery (minor wrist edema), and have NEVER been able to tolerate weight on my palms for long in yoga practice. I substituted Dolphin for Downwards-facing Dog, did Chatarunga on my knuckles, etc., making constant modifications from Day 1 as a beginner – about a decade ago. Now, thanks to these, I am experimenting with working on my palms for the first time EVER! True, I am also working on top of a nice thick rug and 2 (thin/moderate thickness) yoga mats, but! That was insufficient padding before I got the YogaPaws Elite. The gripping surface does so much work for me, and the top breathes nicely. My old Gaiam gloves rode up between the fingers and got painful, but the Paws don’t do that to me at all. When I do want to switch back to my knuckles, the stiff padding on the palms gets a little bit in the way, but otherwise they work just fine even though they probably were not intended for this maneuver. The top of the glove covers my knuckles just enough, with the seam placed to the front of the joints where it won’t get in the way of bearing weight. I’m super tempted to get a non-Elite pair to experiment with, in case of bad wrist days.I was a little worried about the inter-toe strips because I hate flip-flops, the toe band is nearly always uncomfortable, but the soft toe-band of the Paws have not bothered me in the slightest!I HIGHLY recommend this for practitioners with wrist issues. By themselves the Paws may not be sufficient, depending on your problem (thick yoga mats may also be necessary), but they are an amazing tool to have and really made a critical difference for me.

    Perfect
I’m a 6’2″ guy whose sweaty hands & feet make certain yoga positions (e.g. down dog) a slippery experience. First I tried grippy gloves which were advertised as yoga gloves but looked more like all purpose workout gloves that one might use for weightlifting. These were no good — they fell apart very quickly, and ripped a little each time I did a position where the bulk of my weight was supported by my hands on the floor. Also, the fingerholes would pinch in between my fingers, causing discomfort. Not to mention, the grippy-ness wasn’t great, I’d still slide, just more slowly. These yoga paws have been GREAT. I ordered the men’s regular size (I think the largest size available) and was pleased to see they fit comfortably on my above average sized hands & feet (shoe size 13). They don’t pinch in between my fingers (or just barely anyway) and they grip to the floor like glue, no slipping at all. You’ll pay a little more for these than some other alternatives out there, but these are well worth the money!

  6. May

I bought those pairs thinking I could do yoga indoors without using a mat as I was lazy to place the mat and roll it up again in my small house. I also considered to take them with me during my travels. But I didn’t like the experience, especially with the gloves. It’s to hard. The socks collect dust at the base, and difficult to clean as it’s sticky. I found my mat more comfortable and returning these.

  7. Amazon Customer

Was undecided about trying these or getting a travel mat. So glad I bought these, using them is comfier than my thick home mat. Absolutely zero slippage on polished varnish finish wood floor. Feel more secure in postures as a result. Also half the price of a quality travel mat. Chose sellers own minimal packaging, saved receiving a box the size of my house! Only slight negative is toe strap is a bit uncomfortable but as I have only tried them out really think that they will soften with wear. Amazing, so happy!

I didn’t like my travel yoga mat it smells too much like rubber and takes too much room. This is super grippy, easy to pack, way beyond what I expected, super excited to use it for short or longer trips!
