One Way To Encourage Yourself To Take A Few Moments To Escape To A Calm Space
Riley and June Zen Garden Japanese Decor is one way to encourage yourself to take a few moments and escape to a calm space. The first thing that I could not help but notice was the overall presentation of the set. It is truly lovely and it was obvious that the manufacturer took care and consideration when it was packaged. The set that I received included the following:1 Plastic Ball With Spiral Detail1 Lava Rock1 Stone Bridge1 Container Of White Sand1 Black Colored Tray2 Cherry Blossom Trees (that can stand independently even before the sand is added)2 Fake Moss Covered Pieces3 Black Stones In Varying Sizes3 Bamboo Tools To Move And Shift The Sand51 Multi Colored Pebbles In Varying Sizes And TypesThe collection of items are visually attractive and when used together create a calm and tranquil scene. I like how there is plenty of space to incorporate as many elements as I chose. I was surprised to see that the manufacturer provided so many Multi Colored Pebbles in varying sizes and types. In doing so it allowed me to pick the pebbles that I felt were the most aesthetically pleasing. It is also the first Zen Garden that I have seen that included pieces that look like items that you would find in a natural Zen Garden including the cherry blossom trees and moss covered rocks. The White Sand was also a surprising detail as it visually looks like white sugar to me. Once I had placed all of the items in my Zen Garden, I found peace as I used the Bamboo Tools to rake through the fine textured sand. The majority of the man-made pieces (tray, trees, and moss covered stones) are well made. The tray has higher walls than a Zen Garden that I have owned for years. I found that it was well proportioned especially when considering all the pieces included in the set. The one negative that I have for this set is that sadly the Stone Bridge that I received was damaged. The bridge is accented with 8 sphere details on each side of the bridge. Sadly, three of the spheres were broken off on one side of the bridge. As a result, I had to position it so that it was not immediately noticeable when someone looked directly at it. The set is Made in China. This would make a wonderful gift for a loved one or yourself to encourage self care, quiet time, and even as an introduction to meditation.

Great coffee table “toy”
I’ve placed it on my coffee table with a small sign that says “Play with me, accessories in drawer”. I won’t go into detail on all the random things in the box, but I don’t think I’ve had one get together where at least one person didn’t play with it. Would have been cool if it was a litte bigger, but it takes up just the right amount of space. My only advice would be to put a mat under it to catch all the spilled sand.

Meditative
I like using this set with the included rakes to make beautiful patterns in the sand. It is soothing to rake the grooves, erase it, and then rake the grooves again. The nitpick I have, and it is a silly one, is it there are in my opinion, too many accessories included. Some of them are not high-quality, such as the cherry trees, and it looks silly. It is wasteful, as you end up throwing some away, or you have to store them. I wish they had stuck to including just a few lovely rocks. But overall, good set.

Nice calming addition to my desk
I particularly like how this kit comes with so many accessories. It’s been nice to take brain breaks throughout the day! My only complaint is that the mossy rock thing sheds the green fuzz upon opening. I had to clean it up before I could use them without worrying about the fuzz.
