Sally, My Happy Ending: What’s New to Watch on Disney+ and Hulu the Week of June 13, 2025

Whether you subscribe to them individually or as part of a bundle deal, Disney+ and Hulu both have a lot to offer streaming fans. Disney has the ultra-popular Marvel and Star Wars franchises, while Hulu brings the heat with tons of original shows and movies from around the world, coupled with American TV shows from network partners. There’s a lot to watch, with new stuff added every day, so I picked out the three best choices for the weekend and the week ahead. This Week on Hulu and Disney+: PCMag’s Picks

Absolution (June 13/Hulu)

Liam Neeson could do action movies where he plays a grizzled dad with a dark side every year, and we’d keep watching them. In Absolution, he plays an ex-boxer and mob enforcer with CTE after a lifetime of beatings. With not long to live, he wants to repair his strained relationship with his daughter and grandson. It’s not a masterpiece by any means, but it’s fun, and the 72-year-old actor is still credible.

Skincare (June 17/Hulu)

2024 thriller Skincare kind of flew under the radar in theaters, but it’s a surprisingly nasty piece of business with some fun performances. Elizabeth Banks plays a celebrity esthetician who is unexpectedly challenged by a competitor opening up across the street. She quickly gets embroiled in a nasty war of blackmail and stalking, and with the help of an unscrupulous life coach, matters escalate way too far.

Sally (June 17/Disney+)

The first American woman to venture into outer space, Sally Ride was a 1980’s icon, becoming one of the most visible faces of women’s liberation and showing the world that the battle for equality was never over. She also led a secret lesbian double life with a tennis player, so there are layers here. New Nat Geo documentary Sally explores her complex and unique life. It’s the only new content on Disney+ this week (it’s also on Hulu).
